The fighting is all but over. If the Ukrainians are willing to wage a guerrilla war, that remains to be seen

He sounds like Bagdad Bob. Ukrainian resistance in the east has supposedly collapsed. The Russians took and currently hold an airport 15 miles from Kiev. Russian amphibious assaults aren't being contested and Russian columns are steadily advancing from the north.

The left is delusional

Russia will destroy us because people are more concerned with scoring internal political points than in uniting against what should be a common enemy.

I feel the conservatives will do anything including openly supporting Putin. They will greet Putin with open arms when he attacks the US.

+1 they will actively assist and even fight for him right here. What do you think all this talk about “civil war 2” among the RWNJ’s the last 5-6 years has been about? When Russia attacks us next, these people will come out from under their rocks and start waging war right here in America. They’ve been arming themselves to the teeth in preparation of this very thing. It’s patently obvious now, we were just in denial. When someone shows you who they are - believe them. And now they’ve got 50 million AR15 and ready to use them. Now what are we going to do?

Your assessment of the relative strength of Russia versus that of the United States seems very poorly founded. You think they're more prepared for us than we are for them? I mean, it's war. It would be a shit show all around. Enormous suffering. But we're better than they are.

Yes they are more prepared because Russians are willing and used to suffer more than Americans are.

Americans are tougher than you think.

Trump wants to pull the US out of NATO, that's no secret. Here he is speaking last night as Russia was invading Ukraine - he thinks Putin is the greatest

I don’t care about nazis in Ukraine. I care about nazis HERE. If Putin would do something about THEM then maybe some good could come of this

The nazi argument is ridiculous. The president of the Ukraine is Jewish.

Zemmour is a Jew as well as is Stephen Miller.

Being a Jew doesn’t mean you suddenly get superpowers to shield you from criticism.

Hah, that's funny, thinking Americans can remember or will use what happened in 2022 to influence their voting in 2024.

You still believe the Russia collusion narrative??? Why would Putin want Trump to be president when Biden is handing everything to him on a silver platter???? Please explain.

What exactly is Biden handing to him on a silver platter? Be specific.

The only thing Joe should be handing Vlad right now is a few hundred nuclear explosions all over Russia.

So you want to end civilization over the Ukraine?

the fact that you call it "the Ukraine" is a tell, traitor.

DP No rational person would call for nuclear war. Who cares about syntax?

DP

I’m very rational, and we should absolutely be using nukes on Russia now. Otherwise why do we have them? What good are they then? If we don’t eliminate Putin NOW, we’re going to have Trump back in 3 years. This MUST be stopped, and Russia must cease to exist as a world power. We have the means to do that. Yes, there will be some retaliation the we will suffer here. That is unavoidable. But Russia must be stopped. Now.

Better re-assess. Even his SecDef thought Biden would be better.

This piece peddles the specious claim that Trump wanted to pull out of NATO. He said that the US should leave NATO IF THE OTHER NATO COUNTRIES didn’t contribute their share (2% of GDP is the goal). Trump said the US would no longer foot the bill. And because of Trump, NATO is stronger and other countries have stepped up spending and commitment. This is a fact.

I'm gonna take his own SecDef's opinion over yours, sorry.

Esper has a lot to criticize Trump about, but not NATO. That is not a direct quote from
Esper. If you read it carefully it’s trying to convey that Esper said it, but the quotes are attributed to “aides.” If you want to see Trump’s NATO policy in black and white, there are multiple sources including NATO GDP spending by country, and Esper’s own speeches regarding NATO. Here is a direct quote:

“China’s militarization of land features in the South China Sea and Russia’s attempted annexation of Crimea and incursion into eastern Ukraine demonstrate their brazen attempts to chip away at the autonomy of others and undermine the resilience and cohesion of countries and institutions critical to U.S. security, including NATO…
These types of targeted key leader engagements will be essential as we implement the reform plan we announced this summer to reposition our forces in Europe to better align with great power competition. In consultation with our allies, we will continue to refine and enhance our moves in line with our five key principles: Number one, enhance deterrence of Russia. Number two, strengthen NATO. Number three, reassure allies. Number four, improve U.S. strategic flexibility and European Command operational flexibility. And number five, take care of our Service members and their families in the process.”

https://www.atlanticcouncil.org/commentary/transcript/transcript-strengthening-us-alliances-and-partnerships-with-us-secretary-of-defense-mark-esper/

Trump understood that Russia was becoming a bigger threat. Under Trump, DOD increased defense spending, made NATO countries co tribute more if their GDP to NATO, and began restructuring troops in Europe to be more Eastern Bloc focused. Anyone can look at what actually happened with NATO and understand that an UN referenced quote taken out of context suggesting Trump wanted to disband NATO is utterly ridiculous.

There is no uniting this country when you’ve got 70 million Putin-allies in America who voted voted for his fat orange puppet last year. 1/5th of this country is basically a de-facto Russian asset. How are we supposed to unite with all them running around free? We interred Japanese people for less than this in 1942. But are we seriously not going to discuss doing something to isolate these people from society????

Keep thinking that.
