Can anyone here with experience in those leagues say which one of the two offers a higher level of competition across the board? What are other factors that would make you argue for one over the other? I'm truly curious and just want to see what others with experience in the respective leagues have to say about it. Thanks in advance for your feedback, it's very much appreciated.

What age group is the team?

The Academy teams are the preECNL. I think it was just about getting a regular schedule in place. In the Fall some ages were able to set up games every weekend and some weren't.
braddock road's travel offerings are so confusing that is why we never try out there. can't they put this all together on their website and explain it and keep it up to date??!! is that too much to ask . . .
Hilarious. We were at bryc last year and got a huge song and dance about how games and being in a league wasn't important for development blah blah blah
And now here they are in NCSL...I guess their scrimmage league tanked.
What is hilarious is that a good idea was likely ruined by parental pressure because THEY feel league games are important. Well, enjoy NCSL at U10!!
I know a parent there (and we came very close to joining, but did not want ECNL) and this parent says this is player-led...as in, the kids were bored and not motivated/incentivized very much by scrimmages and occasional tournaments. If I had known all along they would end up in NCSL we definitely would have tried out there!
it is just a pilot for the spring only for u9-12 only. it is neither parent or kid led but was to make life easier for some of the coaches who were coordinating the game schedule.

What age groups? Boys or Girls or both? what happened to the 'pre-ECNL' teams?
I would think it's those "pre-ECNL" teams. Probably the feedback from the players and families wasn't the greatest not having games on a week to week.
Correct on age group. See link for full list of New NCSL teams for Spring 2018. http://www.ncsl-soccer.com/welcome-teams
Surprised by the number of PWSI Pride, RWFC, and VISTA teams, which are essentially parent volunteer led teams. Glad to see more parents going the independent route.

No the league appears to be growing and adding more clubs. It'll probably bring over more VPL clubs or other strong/large clubs not currently in either league.
CCL2 hasn't added any teams
Correct that they haven't yet added any this year but last year it added NVSC and SYC. SYC will likely go CCL and CCL2 this upcoming year. CCL just added VA Rush. Looks like growth of the overall league as previously mentioned. There could be a future announcement to a new club joining as it's still early. I don't have any insight, just that it could still happen.
The VA Rush press release said they were going to play in CCL, CCL2 and Pro23
