And, frankly, there are some up-and-comers at each of these schools who didn't get the early eyeball but now are coming in to their own. As my gran used to say, the proof is in the pudding. 8th grade and freshman year are too young for even verbal commits because boys grow (physical, mental) so much between then and junior/senior year. The new rule should hopefully start to even things out.

They just hit the puberty sweepstakes earlier.....

It's actually a lot harder to measure this with the new recruiting rules. There are probably a few boys on Madlax, Crabs, VLC, and DC Express that would have been early commits over the course of the coming year.

Also can't judge the quality of these FOGOs by their success at the faceoff academies. Real game situations where there's real skin in the game show true mettle. I saw all three of these guys last year. They both seem worthy of their accolades, but with much to learn/prove if they are able to make an impact at the next level.

What your obsession with boys? Our daughter is an amazing laxer and should ride it all the way to the Ivy League. Smart, academic kids get a huge admission boost getting into an Ivy or other top college (as they all care about lax) if he/she is also a top lax player.

Okay fine to pat yourself on the back for a fine SJC season but just stop with the almost beat Landon. #fakenews

Wes Speaks is a fantastic coach. He inherited a mess when he took over the reigns in the middle of the Fall. (3 different coaches in 3.5 years).

With the amount of money SJC has been pouring into their athletic programs, their football and basketball programs have been elevated in the past 5 years, I suspect the same level of institutional support will trickle over to their lacrosse program.

St. Johns was a completely different team when the season started in March to when it ended in May which speaks to the depth of their coaching. They nearly beat Landon, the best team in the country this year, but stumbled down in the final 5 minutes of the game.

The WCAC for the past decade has been dominated by Gonzaga but their reign in the sport is gradually going to come to an end.

I agree. SJC was good this year because of their defense, their goalie, and fogo. All of which graduated. Their offense was meh. They won't be near as good next year. Definitely not on the rise.
