And, frankly, there are some up-and-comers at each of these schools who didn't get the early eyeball but now are coming in to their own. As my gran used to say, the proof is in the pudding. 8th grade and freshman year are too young for even verbal commits because boys grow (physical, mental) so much between then and junior/senior year. The new rule should hopefully start to even things out.
