But once the public got wind of the missing mom it spiraled into a kidnapping tale and these letters just so happened to start arriving and now they are forced to play along.
If it was accidental, they could’ve called 911. Nobody would spin a ransom saga like this.
I could think of five quick scenarios where they may not call right away. Elder abuse is common and they could easily be charged with it in a variety of circumstances.
Medication mix-up, medication abuse, forcing mom’s hand at giving money, mom threatens to tell other siblings of what’s happening.
Elder abuse caught on tape, maybe the front porch camera. Mom starts bleeding. They bug out in fear and the situation spirals.
Sister and BIL are afraid. Police bring in other siblings to be recorded on camera to reassure them that the heat is not on them. Hold hands, comfort each other, etc…
There are quite a few accidental scenarios that could fit. Add to this random random letters no one was expecting…
This actually makes sense. Also pacemaker no longer syncs at 2am could just be the time she was moved out of the house. She could have died earlier when they drove her home and they came back to remove her afterwards.
We are just seeing glimpses of all of this. I’m sure sister/BIL alibis and stories have blown up and can’t be kept straight. Law enforcement was prob just waiting on forensics and more solid evidence.
Hate it if this is true. Poor Savannah to have to live with losing her mom along with this being done by a hand if family she thought was there helping out

I posted earlier. I keep seeing speculation that money is the motive, but I think that lacks a lot of logic in terms out of how this crime has played out. If it turns out to be a family member, I believe motive would be crime of passion. A confrontation. The person felt that something in their own life was threatened--maybe incriminating information about them.
I have no dog in this fight because I think law enforcement has so much more information than we do and I'll just wait on what they have. Everyone is here trying to crib together a theory on crumbs. So much has been withheld from us, so why speculate?
I don't know, why are you speculating it's a crime of passion?
Oh I was careful to make sure it was only a hypothetical speculation....

No, the mother bought her own home with her late husband (S’s father) in 1975. Who knows the motive? But it’s not any more far fetched than a random kidnapping for botched ransom.
I'm going with domestic problem with opportunistic ransom demand. They are not the same people.
