Its a bait and switch. No one will come out for RBFC but they will for NVA.
And no one from Aspire will make a GA roster at NVA. Save your money.
Agreed! Better off staying at your current club and waiting to see if RBFC can even put teams together that can compete. Let the club prove they can deliver on teams at every age group. Don't waste of a year of development for your kids.
It’s really hard to imagine how they do that. They’re nestled between GFR, McLean and Herndon which have struggled to put competitive teams in both genders simultaneously for years. Each has has its successes here and there but honestly until 2-3 of them merge it’ll continue to be hard to compete with NVA/Loudoun, SYC, Arlington, etc who have spent decades building.
If they do what other clubs haven’t and focus on the girls side they could actually be successful. They are right by Herndon and Sterling who are doing the exact opposite, plus they have the Aspire pathway. No clubs seem to want to do this though, so I doubt it will happen.
Aspire is not a pathway.
-It's more of a pathway than ECNL RL... Aspire promotes Clubs to into GA.
You think Riverbend will be promoted to GA? Sorry, but the GA market is completely maxed out in NoVa. Not a chance that is happening. If these girls are good enough to play GA, they should just go try out for GA teams....
They are 3rd and 4th team girls looking for an easy way to get a badge on their jersey rather than develop and earn it.
The girls who are being forced to play in Riverbend don't give a crap about Aspire or badges. They just want to play soccer with their friends and were perfectly happy being in NCSL. It's RP and ML that are forcing this Aspire move.
Why is anyone being "forced" to play in Riverbend?
A couple of TMs connected to Riverbend, ML, and RP got some of the parents on a couple white teams riled up at GFR's OLD leadership. Really they just wanted to run a club themselves and needed bodies to make it happen. The "upset" TMs fanned the flames and their allies coerced the remaining parents to leave GFR through threats that "they knew" GFR was falling apart and wouldn't have teams and that "what's important is that the girls play together." The coerced parents felt forced to go along with the ride rather than move their DD to a different team where they didn't know anyone.
false. only one team left for spring. nobody else from GFR except mayve a couple players went/are going to RBC

The girls that left GFR to play for Loudoun East were told that their teams were no longer going to part of Loudoun East but instead would be moved over to RBFC to play in GA Aspire. The parents said that they were fine to stay as Loudoun East playing in NCSL and were told that was not an option. They were told that GA Aspire was not that much different than playing NCSL. The girls just want to play together and most parents are tired of having to switch clubs every year due to false promises and coaches bailing and clubs falling apart so this seems like the only way to keep the team together at this point.
I was reliably informed that Aspire was the best girls league in the land.

Wow! Tell us more! RP must have some David Koresh-style rizz, getting his lieutenants to rile up and coerce the masses!
Try sitting at a table with a TM (who later came out as a riverbend board member) in your face in front of the other parents asking you to sign on to leaving with your teenage DD crying. I gotta hand it to them, it was a good pressure tactic.
