She looked beautiful and the gown was custom. It was daring (for American fashion tbh, Americans are less daring, esp first ladies) and unusual for an inaugural gown. It’s hard to pull off a choker and Melania did. She trended less colonial and more continental today, and it’s disconcerting to some of the hayseeds.
Ivanka followed suit. They both looked fantastic.

Oooh, this is beautiful… another +1 for Ivanka! Finally the woman leverages her best asset… her beautiful figure, in a normal way. -OP
That is GORGEOUS. The fit, the line, the all of it.
+100
Absolutely stunning.

Ivanka knocked it out of the park.
(Her earlier green outfit though…. Totally cosplaying Kate Middleton. I think wearing her camel coat inside was also following Kate Middleton’s penchant for coat dresses).
Ivanka looks like a human mannequin. Her proportions are all off. Her plastic surgery is a travesty. Just so unnatural looking, so bad. Ugh
I think the black gloves are a lot with the dress. Also, Audrey Hepburn was tiny, so the embroidery covered more of her dress. Ivanka's dress looks relatively plain, though I think it has exactly the same amount of embroidery. In addition, Ivanka has a slight hunch, a lot of tall women do especially if their partners are not much taller, and that really doesn't help when trying to carry a dress like this.
The level of embroidery per blank space on the dress bothered me too, and it's a solvable problem -- they should have made the embroidery on Ivanka's dress larger. Even if using an existing fabric, you can cut it so the embroidery comes higher on the bust and covers more of the skirt. I also just think the construction is off and makes it look like a cheap replica -- what you'd get if you sent a photo of the Audrey dress to one of those Chinese replica-makers. But like look at this other angle on the original below below -- it's not just that the embroidery covers more of the dress, it's also the construction of the overskirt and the way it seems to wrap around more and have more volume, and little details like the bow at the waistline. It looks like a very finished, complete look. Ivanka's lacks that level of finish.
I can’t believe I didn’t immediately recognize this as Audrey’s dress! I agree that the original is better made but I don’t think Ivanka could have worn the more full wraparound effect of the Audrey version — Audrey had no hips so could do that.
I still think it’s a gorgeous dress. Would look even better on her if she had her natural brunette color. I spent the whole last administration posting that she should ditch the bottle blonde but I guess she didn’t read our thread thoroughly enough to get that note. She would be so much prettier as a brunette.
Unlike Vanky, Audrey starved in 1944 in the Netherlands during a famine and the war. Most likely, her body did not get the needed nutrients and this contributed to her small frame. The effects of starvation affected her for her entire life.

She's done this before -- copied someone else's look. I'll go dig it up if nobody else remembers the exact one.
Pretty lame.
PP. She copied Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief. It's embarrassing.

Who cares? Fashion is always inspired by something. That was a beautiful gown.

Who cares? Do you know what forum you are in, or do you need to be shown the way out?

Usha looks nice.
I think Mel looks like she is attending a funeral.

This made me laugh.

As soon as someone else posted that it was pointing at Trump I started seeing it as a snake winding up her.

Tiff has puffed her face up with fillers. Wow. Looking less human every time I see her.
Taking lessons from big sister.

Oh my god, can you please just limit your criticism of Ivanka to one post instead of just going on and on? Yes, we know it's you posting the same thing over and over again.

Haha I kinda do too. I really hope we don't have to be (over) exposed to that Bettina lady.
