Is it possible that BB and AP paid JR to
kill CB? That may have been part of their plan, without JR knowing that they will kill him to leave no witness.

The whole thing makes me sick.

Since AP lied about a lot of things about that morning, I hope JR died more quickly and did not suffer then in her telling, Christine too. I hope she was drugged or something and that her final weeks were not being coerced into this then followed by the staggering betrayal by BB and AP.

I don't see a motive for JR and the state of VA has laid out a fairly classic and convincing one for BB and AP - affair & money, especially if there is life insurance money at stake. If so very curious when it was purchased. It's notable that LE refers to both Joe and Christine as "victims" and the chief speaks of holding someone "accountable" re: their open and ongoing investigation. So not AP and not JR, who is left? Day of chief said BB and AP were "present and involved."

BB has a creepy vibe even on his FB. Seems cold and kind of tightly wound. You never know with people like that. C should have left him long ago, but who could imagine someone they have known for decades being capable of this? And they seem to think they will get away with it?!

Anyone know how old BB was when his father walked out on him? Sometimes when a childhood trauma anniversary age is reached by your own child it can prompt some pretty crazy midlife crisis type behavior, although not like this.

+1. There’s just no motive for JR. His actions aren’t in line with someone planning to murder another person. He told his friends about the Banfields. He parked his car in their driveway. He communicated with them on his personal devices as opposed to a throwaway number, etc. Nothing about his actions leading up to that day suggests he could’ve done this, and he’d have no reason to do it. Contrast that to BB.

If AP did indeed resent the attention the child got from her father, after the loss of her mommy at their hands!, and not only felt that but shared it with people, or even if she didn't but brutally murdered a man, she is some piece of work too.

All his cases at IRS should be review, dude likes to f* with people.

Maybe if he gets picked up he'll be chatty to other inmates. They may be more likely to cooperate than spathh AP.

This is a board that is pretty local to dvm. I personally think BB is a typical guy who bloviates and blusters through life with a callous terpitude that comes from narcissism and entitlement, and I think AP is a naive young woman who was ready and willing to commit murder in order to follow the lead of a man she perceived to be the answer to a comfortable life. But just because there aren’t positive things said about them here, doesn’t mean anything. I don’t think AP’s friends from Brazil are checking this forum. What is significant is the fact that BB are playing house after CB’s murder.

Husband + known affair with au pair + wife murdered under suspicious circumstances = husband responsible unless proven otherwise.

No, the government pension is not what it used to be -- especially for people hired after a certain date. I retired about 2 years ago as a GS-15, and my pension is about 1/3 of my salary, less health insurance, taxes, etc. The pension basically pays my mortgage. I'm not complaining, but I definitely cannot NOT work if I want to live in the area (I'm a contractor now). Maybe if I move to Idabel, OK, I could live on my pension... All this to say, his pension would not be that big.
