I guess one final token Pride post. Then coincidentally, after Pride month is no longer front and center, she has another month of posts lined up for Me Camp. Which will be a rehash of all the other Me Camp posts over the years. Only the names are changed.

Wonder what she’s going to have to post about in August/September as kids have basically flown the coop thus no mad beginning of school rush/drama/so much to do/kids being unreliable/lazy/can’t handle anything unless she either swoops in to save the day or just abandons them since it’s not her job anymore.

Public defender from Minnesota. I took a month off last winter and went to Florida. I did a couple cases via zoom. I’m planning another longer trip for the fall. As a public defender I don’t make a huge salary. It’s more doable then you would imagine.

I grew up Indy Fundy (IYKYK). My friend and I taught in the same Christian school, served in the same church, and raised our kids together. Her daughter came out to her at her college graduation in May. My friend said, “well, thank you for letting me know. I imagine that there might be some people in our circle who are going to struggle with that. But I love you.”
Somehow, my friend was able to love her gay kid, and she’s never even heard of Jen Hatmaker!

Whoo Hoo. Flock to Jen’s book signings and you may be the lucky one where she wrote a bonus “I love you” along with a little heart next to her name. I’m sure that will pack them in.

Look, I love the Oregon coastline.

I love the Willamette Valley and associated wine even more, and go at least three times a year.

I still think she's going to a slightly odd place, because most people go to the beach north of there (see: Cannon Beach (with Haystack Rock), Rockaway). That said, I'm no expert.

I will be interested to see if she ventures east to wine-tasting country.

Yachats, Oregon? I was hoping for MeCamp this year to be in White Droople Harbour, Connecticut.

Yachats has a population of 1000 of which about 96% is white so it totally checks out for MeCamp.

This is so spot-on. The gal who has no problem telling everyone what to worry about, and how she is barely hanging on. emotionally, day to day- suddenly gets to peace out by herself for an extended vacation.
I can't imagine being her friend.
The footage of her at Caleb's boot camp graduation, with everyone kind of giving her her space as someone encircles her to get footage, tells us a lot about how even her closest friends regard her. She needs....lots of space. They seem to handle her with kid gloves, and how long has she been divorced?

It's just so tone deaf, period, but especially right now with so many struggling.

Me camp will have lots of friends & family visits. She’s never alone at these. It will be precious.
