Why are you having to point out her ethnicity? Is there any other girl in the story?

Because a lot of foreign born Asians don't know how to swim. Swimming is not part of Asian schooling curriculum like it is in VA public schools.
My Asian roommate in grad school could not swim, ride a bike or drive. Those are considered essential life skills here, but not in Asia. Some parents might teach their kids but more likely, the kid masters them on their own.

Swimming is not part of VA public school curriculum. That is entirely on the family to teach.

- signed a VA public school grad with two VA public school teenagers.

Swimming has NOTHING to do with this BUT you are wrong. Our NOVA schools systems have swimming in elementary school and high school.

They certainly do but. I teach in the school system. You’re a troll.

I'm not a troll. Where do you teach? My kids took swimming in APS and FCPS. I sub in APS.

LCPS. You’re telling me there’s a mandatory swimming class taught during the school day? That’s bs.

Yes, in FCPS and APS.

blatantly false. absolutely untrue (may be an exception but certainly not all or mandatory)

sad to be trying so hard to insert off topic and false irrelevant diversions in this thread as if the actual subject matter isn't sad enough on its own

Stop it boomer. Swimming hasn't been standard in the 'Va public schools' for decades.

Do we know that Sudiksha or any of her friends weren't lifeguards?

There were 5 women total? Surely one must have been a lifeguard? Has this been reported?

This is so weird

Where do you get the idea that one in five women are lifeguards?

Even if one was a lifeguard, they weren't present at the time, so it wouldn't matter.

Being a trained lifeguard at a pool, which my 16 year-old is, is not going to save you from strong ocean currents. my God, so many people here a lack common sense and critical thinking skills.

It's predominantly one YOU pp who must be part of the family community in some way but absolutely refuses to accept this "logical" explanation, even as a possibility. It's beyond comprehension to her that the victim here may have made some unwise decisions (or that she drank alcohol or may have been drunk). So she continuously attempts to divert the thread with conspiracy theories, mostly naming and pointing to the guy. The other group are true crime junkies.

Investigators have named him a POI. Why are you so hysterically trying to obfuscate that fact?

Investigators clearly stated today (Thursday) that a POI is an American term, not a DR term. They said NO ONE is being looked at criminally.

US LE is also involved.

you mean Barney Fife from Loudoun County?

FBI

we know there's no FBI in this country, at least not for brown/black people
the only US guy I saw was from Loudoun

She is Black/brown, which is exactly why not one damn person is talking about the story and the news media won’t even cover it at all.

/s.

You are ridiculous and very bigoted person with a victim-complex, PP. Seek psychological help.

Which media hasn't covered it? Don't make up stuff.

It was the top story on 11 news last night.

It may not have made news in the first day but it's been on media on different outlets for almost a week now.

Why are you so sure one must have been a lifeguard? Do you know them or of them and know they were a lifeguard? Someone here or a report may have mentioned the young man that was staying with Konanki on the beach (after the other 5 people went back to hotel) was or is a lifeguard.

Exactly. Sheriff Simpson is inserting himself into this tragedy not out of a desire to help, but for the publicity it will give him. New head of FBI is Indian. He's keeping that in mind.

So, in the video only 3 girls are visible. so, there were 2 more girls.

I thought I'd read there was a group of 8? Maybe at the bar and not all went to the beach?
