The email from today is not for the fall it has to do with the spring.

Evergreen is NOT in play.

The email, which I’m guessing you got as well, does not specific the Spring only. The only reference to the Spring season is the evaluation.

Fields for the spring? This is nothing new.

That's huge news. Wonder how they made evergreen happen since VRSC is growing.

Turn out was strong. Fields aplenty.

And the exact fields will be announced tomorrow! ...or tomorrow's tomorrow.

What age group? Wondering about 2009 girls? Mine couldn't make it.

Quoted AB and DR.

Truth be told there were actually a few decent kids there. A few.

+1 Truest statment made in a while. It's a damn shame we pay so much for so little with the whole ECNL ecosystem and if you don't invest in these other things (private training, futsal, paying for more tournaments to guest play on other teams, and playing with boys), your kid will be good to very good, but will not stand out to be recognized for the greatest opportunities. And honestly there is not enough time to do all this well, with out potentially burning your kid or yourself out. We're doing well, so not complaining more so venting that it takes so much to just have the flexibility to play where you want. Invest in music lessons instead LOL!

There's limited land available for a soccer field when the builder can make millions on data centers which coincidentally take the same amount of land. There's plenty of field space but the county doesn't release it and the Bermuda grass fields can't be used when it rains. There's all this talk about field space but few of these kids actually go home and practice soccer. If you want your kid to get better, take them to a brick wall and tell them to pound clay. The idea that these poopy paid coaches are going to make your child better is 95% fantasy.

Soccer is a technical sport, a kid can't just figure it out with a brick wall...unfortunately, you have to pay for a trainer, kind of like having a tutor, or sign up for other specialized training on the side. Most importantly, expand your soccer world, play futsal, guest play, and if you have a girl and she is still elementary age...have her play with boys whenever possible. You absolutely cannot just take your kid to club and nothing else and expect them to progress. Really sad considering the amount of money we pay, but true.

Anonymous wrote:I am an FCV parent in the know and here is what you need to know.

This is last year at Evergreen.

No fields have been secured for next season at this point.

Hanson Park will not be available for FCV but I'm not going to comment on why.

Bles Park will be beginning construction soon and will not be available for next season.

Western Fairfax is the most likely outcome.

BP has offers from other clubs but has also had offers in the past from ECNL clubs. Nobody knows what he is really going to do.

MP will not be a TD or full time coach.

At least two other FCV coaches are likely to follow CC to VRSC.

CC has told multiple parents he believes VRSC will have GA next year.

STJ makes money on non-GA teams but is losing money with the GA teams.

STJ ownership are not on the same page and lack communication with STJ Sports Management.

Many players and families are considering a move accross multiple age groups if no announcements made by February to clear up this mess.

As for us, we have been very happy with our years at FCV. BP has been extremely organized and we have never had to worry about fields, schedule, etc. DD has developed under FCV greatly. We will stay at FCV if BP commits to next season and another quality TD is brought in to replace CC.

We will leave if BP does not make an announcement by Feb. 1st of some type for next season. There is no point in staying when the draw to FCV is college placement headed by BP and former CC.

Honestly, despite all the hate FCV gets, we are really disappointed about what is happening. Words can't exactly tell you by how much. Our understanding is the STJ Ownership is the biggest problem right now. I don't think they really care about the FCV program.

Yes, NVA will benfit some from this disaster but mostly at next years 06/07 team. Not many people feel good about the coaching there at other age groups. Many parents also do not consider Union due to politics and favoritism. VDA will probably be the biggest benefactor of all of this. Brave will probably get the players who don't make VDA or Loudoun top squad.

Bottom line is, if BP leaves, FCV will lose the majority of it's top players. I don't see STJ investing heavily in new directors or coaching based on what I know.

Good luck to everyone in the same boat as us.

I’m sorry for your daughter and for you. Kids getting caught in Club politics sucks. Seems to happen regularly December-April every year now. Information is hard to get, can’t tell who you can trust, teams break up, texts and emails are flying, other parents want to know where you are going and try to convince you to go where they are going. All you can do is what’s best for your child/family. But it definitely takes a lot of the fun away for awhile.

Word.

You're signed up at the wrong place. Look up the contact for South coaches if you don't want to be in loudoun. The South teams are on FFX.

For real, for GA? Thx

No, GA is not part of the South teams. The new Director will be back in town March 18-19 for ID sessions at Revolution fields.
