No way. If the kid can walk, they need to be dressed for the day.

Happening across threads like this makes me happy that I must regularly horrify DC residents. If you pitch a fit over what other people wear to eat powdered eggs off paper plates you're a histrionic drama queen who needs to learn to mind your own business and I hope you're always horrified and uncomfortable everywhere you go, because you deserve it for being such a pearl-clutching moron.

Seeing PJs in lounge areas drives me nuts. Even on little kids. Maybe especially on little kids.

That said, I will run down just for coffee wearing lounge pants I may have slept in (that pass for lounge pants and don't have pictures of Frenchies or avocados on them) and appropriately shirted and bra-ed.

+ 100

There are many options between all-out pajamas and showered/dressed in nice clothes.

Westins and JW Marriotts don’t have free powdered eggs and stale muffins in their lobbies.

I can’t believe it is either. I would wear pajamas without hesitation.

No pajamas at breakfast after 5 years old. I have a 4 year old and 13 month old and would take them both to breakfast in pjs without hesitating.

The places with free crappy breakfast in the lobby. That is one of the main reasons they stay there.

Depends where you are located. We (usually) would travel to Canada to ski every year and most people were fine with PJs at breakfast, but going to some places it would seem weird. Personally, I’d not care at all if someone had them on. Most PJs are covering people in the same manner other clothing would anyway.

tiny kids fine, anything over 3 or 4 is trashy and the fact that people need to ask why is the sad part.
