The key words are "quit her job" I doubt she could have spoken up without quitting or being fired.

Being fired for what? For refusing to teach CRT, which no one is asking her to do?

She lives in WVA and works in Lucketts, what would you expect. All the crazies are in western Loudoun, so glad I live in eastern Loudoun where people are relatively normal.

We really should split the county in half, for more than just weather/school closure reasons.

Generally how I feel about it. The parents up in arms are stupid and the policy is NBD but liberal should stop acting like this is the lord’s work. Get back to fundamental: universal healthcare, fair wages, tax the rich.

If “speaking up” means “refusing official policy to respect student pronouns” then sure she could be fired. Employers have the right to fire employees who won’t follow the policies of their employment.

Draft version of Policy 7560 stated “Employees should report violations of LCPS’s commitment to equitable treatment….”

Not made up. It went out about a year ago, and I think after an outcry they dropped the policy. Don't remember the details, but something about they did not want teachers speaking against school board policy anywhere.

Didn’t happen. That’s why you can’t remember the details.

I can’t get over lying about being told to report colleagues lol. Why would you even make that up??

Nobody was told to report our own colleagues . Nobody.

That snark is stale and it won't hunt. Most sentient people reasonably understand that what's being discussed is not CRT as it is taught in-law schools and in higher education, but rather, aspects derived from its principles.

Could you please elaborate on exactly what those aspects are?

Thanks.

Not the pp, but broadly stated, segregation is one aspect derived from its principles.

Uh no. CRT would examine the racial impetus behind SYSTEMS of segregation in our country (eg redlining) and the legal ramifications and outcomes . A principal moving kids around this way is not CRT. CRT is a framework for understanding existing systems .

CRT is an academic theory/framework for legal analysis taught at upper levels, but "CRT" as now being used in public discourse refers to something akin to "critical social justice" policies. Whatever you would call the framework or theory behind "moving kids around this way" (and teaching kids about "whiteness", etc.) is what people are shorthanding as "CRT."

Which is not happening below a high school elective level.

I’m confused by this comment. The segregated classrooms described in the link were in elementary school - second grade, I think?
