Businesses must be annoyed. They took down their signs and mostly went back to normal. Now, they need to go through the whole covid theatre again.

I have a bunch of family members who were actually told not to get it or that they are fine not getting the vaccination by their regular health care providers:

Family member 1: told should absolutely not get a vaccine because she has MS and is on medication whose interaction with vaccines is unknown (she got Covid last week and is 100% fine because she qualified for prophylactic monoclonal antibodies)

Family members 2 and 3 who are over 70 with health issues: Recommended to get vaccine but told it is “okay” if they don’t get the vaccination though if they get a positive, they need to immediately go to the hospital for prophylactic monoclonal antibodies. Both got Covid last week (parents of person mentioned above), went to hospital, got the monoclonal treatment and are doing very well. No symptoms at all.

Family member 4: In her 20s. Veteran and currently a nurse who sees a VA doctor who told her not to get the vaccine because of endometriosis. I found this to be a bunch of garbage and am pissed about this advice actually because of a very close family member who is incredibly high risk and whom she lives with. So far, she hasn’t gotten Covid.

Not really on topic but relevant - a fifth family member who had contact with the first 3 mentioned above but who was fully vaccinated got Covid from contact with the one with MS. So far, that person is fine. No symptoms.

I really think some cash incentives or other bribe would help. It reminds me of the way it’s hard to get this demographic to vote. They are self centered and often hard to get to be pro-social or communal. It’s easier to convince older people and people with kids because they more readily see the benefits of collective action.
