He did. But people who win elections resign all the time, when it becomes clear that they are unfit to lead. Sometimes they’re even forced to do so.
By the time he becomes president, half the school will have been selected by a process that he has denounced, and half of the folks who voted for him will be gone.

How could a president-elect "gain control" of an organization? By definition, that is someone who isn't yet in charge.
I can't understand why people with so little understanding would speculate about this, unless you are just trying to create more chaos and show how stupid you are.

Another 2021 parent here. While I understand how some in the Asian community feel, I don't think there's anything wrong with trying out alternative methods of selection as long as the TJ rigor continues. I really hope the new class does well.
However, I DO NOT support the anti-democratic methods being employed by Bonnie and the VA PTA (who have no business touching my contributions) in trying to get rid of a duly elected TJ PTA. Who's their coach? Trump?

The TJ Parent Class of 2021 (that is not a typo - my kid has graduated) has back and forth hostile posts/emails that directly name the opposing parents. It is so depressing - the exchanges on both sides have turned into personal, angry tirades all about the other adults - not one side has talked about the kids, other than in passing.
In the beginning I thought the dispute was focused on whether or not the PTA would actively advocate for or against the new admissions system but now there are posts about the teaching of critical race theory. I am very sorry for the kids and parents coming in.

Parents are absolutely entitled to their opinion and to advocate on a personal level for or against the admissions changes. And they can join lawsuits, etc in their personal capacity. But the role of the PTA is to support all the students/parents/staff .
And, the margin of "victory" for several of the newly elected reps was 2 votes in one case so please don't tell me they have a mandate and are representing the whole school.
My hope is that after a year of this cluster, non-political candidates will come back to the PTA and return to fundraising, activity organizing, etc.

Every ounce of this goes back to last year’s corresponding secretary, the public figure Asra Nomani. As a member of the Executive Committee, she used her position as a 2021 parent and as a former WSJ correspondent to launch a crusade against the admissions process and inappropriately published many articles directly attacking the school’s administration in publications to include the school’s official PTSA Newsletter. She is the unquestioned leader of the status quo advocates and Q4TJ, which has become about the sorest bunch of losers this school system has ever seen.
The new president elect has also openly advocated against the admissions reforms on multiple platforms. He stands to take over as president in the 2022-23 school year, at which point he will be on record as believing the class of 2025 to be fraudulent and illegitimate.
With every word that comes out of these people’s mouths on public and anonymous platforms, they further show beyond a shadow of a doubt why these reforms are so desperately needed. The overt Asian supremacy must stop.

The author of this article earned more votes in the February contest than the current president who is desperately trying to oust the just elected Dr. Harry.
When we describe this as a purge against Asian American students by leaders at TJ and Fairfax County Public Schools, that is not rhetorical excess. It’s an accurate interpretation of what’s happening based on the hard data. The number of Asian American students isn’t dropping because they’re less qualified; it’s dropping because the school has rejiggered the process to make race a factor in the decisions.
Wow. This is a well written article. I am so sad to see how people can endorse such a purge. It is so clearly illegal. 10 years from now people will look back and wonder how such blatantly racist behavior was allowed.
Our battle in northern Virginia is not just a local dispute between parents and school administrators at one high school. The use of race in K-12 school admissions is part of a much wider national campaign by education officials intoxicated by the fashionable ideology of critical race theory taking it upon themselves to undermine the meritocratic system of achievement at schools from San Francisco to New York City and Boston. Under the cover of fighting against discrimination and injustice, they’re launching a new era of discrimination and injustice. It’s up to parents to draw a line in the sand against this abuse of power.
