Bethesda 07 lost their worst player to Mclean cuz daddy took his donations to another club so his kid would start. She used to play alot and struggled when a better coach took over and wouldn't play her - even Dad's gifts to the club didn't help. The other kids leaving for Loudoun isn't a team player and doesn't play all the games becaue she dosnt work. The 06 kid is amazing but the team won 6 of their games without her. Relax.
Correct: One girl to McLean and she never started for Bethesda. She will find her way eventually. Nice kids over there. At the end of the day who cares at 14 who is amazing etc. they are still developing and kids at this age that dominate don’t always later. Yes the 06 that plays on 07 did not get them all their wins. There is a forward that scored 10+ goals? that’s an 07. The challenge on that team is you can’t tell what the offense can do with the team defense giving the ball away so often. Better teams destroy the midfield and defense yet they still made the ECNL playoffs. Supposedly the defensive challenges are being addressed with the loss of the girl to McLean and the addition of solid defenders and holding mid
I'm confused. The girl leaving for McLean will find her way because they have nice kids on the team? People do care if girls are good at the age of 14 while they are developing. I've seen that Bethesda 07 team play...they don't have any strikers. Team is slow and small. Sounds like your coach did a good job with what he has to work with.
Yeah you’re confused - THEIR coach as I don’t have a kid on the team. The 07 girls are very nice at Bethesda. The kid that is leaving will find her way in the soccer world / just leave it at that. It wasn’t the right place for her I think.
Tough to talk about their offense.‘I saw about 8-10 games including non ECNL. They struggle with turnovers. The slowest two players are leaving and they are bringing in at least some faster players.
Anyway - back to Loudoun and NOVA since that’s my ECNL conference. I like Loudoun and the coaching. I like Clyde a lot at McLean but concerned about the Rush girls they are taking and that Bethesda girl but that’s their deal. There is a sleeper team that’s coming up in the next two years if all goes to plan. Everyone hates Arlington but give it a couple years. Not sure how many wins are coming but the coaching there is a great option.
What is the "sleeper team" you speak of?

My response is that 99 percent of the conference is VA /NC teams and neither of the SC teams are particularly strong.
Do you even know the SC teams?
No - but I care about them deeply. Thank you.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Good Morning,
I am a parent with close ties to both teams but we play for a Maryland Club.
Obviously I cannot name names but it is in fact three players moving from Loudoun to FCV. It is also pretty much the top 3 Loudoun players.
Let me be clear about this. The players leaving Loudoun did not have any gripes with parents, coaches, or players. It is well understood FCV provides a much better path to better Colleges for girls of this talent level. That is the only reason. None of these girls are expecting to be invited to YNT. Just for a college advantage, that's it.
If any of you want to argue that Loudoun provides a better college opportunity even though they are in the ECNL than FC Virginia, you are 100% delusional.
The FCV 07 team is losing one, maybe 2 bench players. It is possible the 08s playing up get moved back on age after all of the new additions.
It should also be said the best player from the BRYC 07 team is also moving to FCV for this reason.
I'll also be the first to tell you ECNL is the much better league and whether or not FCV can continue to hold on to top notch players after the 07 year is a huge question.
Take it for what it's worth as I am just outside both boxes looking in.
There are a lot of errors in this post. Please don’t listen to this Bethesda parent.
Have no idea if this is a "Bethesda parent" or not, but you are right in that their certainly are some errors in the posting above.....
No worries. I am a Bethesda parent. The only errors I gave are speculation. If you are trying to tell me Loudoun has a better track record for college placement than FCV, then your opinion holds zero weight. AT LEAST three players are leaving. One of them is already on 07 Team communications. I'm sorry if that disappoints you. Guess I'm just trying to stop the bleeding for you now. Our 07 team is losing a few players but are actually adding better players in their place. Who knows, maybe your 07 team will do the same.
As for what could be wrong, the player from BRYC may not be the best player I guess. And I said the 2008 could possibly be moved down. Could being the key word!
Please tell me where my info is bad. I could actually give a sh-- since we don't play either team often but I do like FCV as Club. I don't know much about Loudoun other than it is not nearly established as FCV and that is a fact as well. And you know what facts don't care about.
