The same number that Juventus said they would. None. I scoured the juventusdcmetro.com website. There is not even a hint of scouting or being paid for. Why would a parent think this? And if they do, why is it the fault of Juventus? If you join one of these branded academies expecting some kind of pathway to the professional club, you are an idiot. It looks like a decently funded and organized new soccer club. Nothing wrong with that.
I just find it so odd that the existence of these branded clubs like Barca and now Juventus trigger soccer parents so much. Is it envy of the ability to pay for it like envy of someone driving a nice car? Live and let live. Why the outrage for something other people do?

IS. AWESOME. Another post in this thread. Any publicity is good publicity. Well, good luck to them. It's a great way to see if the demand is there. And for the folks on this board who are worried about upward mobility or being looked down upon by the ECNL team at their DC's at existing clubs, maybe this will prove to be a good alternative for those parents and their children.
hopefully anyone considering this club does their own research. Personally, I'd be wary of paying top tier prices for a club that is going to have to take all comers and, at best, will have lopsided teams. At worst they will end up with a slate of mixed age group teams practicing wherever the bigger clubs haven't already reserved all of the space which will mean the worst fields at the worst times. That's all fine if you know what you're getting into, but it's disingenuous to imply that the kid will be trying out for and playing at a large club under Juventus' umbrella rather than a small club licensing the name
I would take your own advice and do the research. This team will NOT take all comers. They already have several girls signed up to try out. And oh yeah the link went up yesterday morning. Juventus is a WORLDWIDE ACADEMY. I'm pretty sure they're not going to have a hard time finding practice space. This is 100% under the Juventus Umbrella. They have PROFESSIONAL COACHES FROM JUVENTUS in Italy travel to visit and advise their youth programs all over the world 4 times a year. I'd pay top tier prices for a Juventus team over any of the local area clubs on any day of the week. Wow are you clueless. Yeah bc a small club licensing their name could legally list JEEP as one of their sponsors, let alone put it on their jerseys.
I invite you to visit the official Juventus website (you'll want to choose the english version bc I doubt you speak Italian. If you did we wouldn't be having this conversation), go to the pull down menu and select ACADEMY. Then choose The Programs, then Year-Round Training. Then feel free to look at their WORLDWIDE PROGRAM LOCATOR MAP. Enjoy feeling stupid.

Sucker, just write another check and keep telling your friends your little johnny plays for Juventus and italian coaches are coming to train him. so funny. Oh and its Ronaldos club forgot that part. Maybe he will be on the bench for little johnnys next game. bring the family
The negativity people display on this site is always so interesting. No one said Italian coaches were coming to coach “little Johnny”. All I’ve see is someone had a good experience with Juventus DC Metro and they’re happy there will be a VA team for her child to try out for. Everyone needs to calm down.
That’s the thing. No one believes this is mom who had a good experience. It’s probably some staffer hoping to earn commission via their post and its link.
OMG I am a Mom! At least last time I checked. Unless I’m in some bizarro world version of The Truman Show. LOL this is hilarious. Do I need to post a picture of my boy in his old Juventus uniform? I mean...
no reason you can't be a mom and a club employee. If you actually work in marketing, this is a pretty hamfisted attempt to publicize the club
Exactly. And no I’m not a Club employee. I just like the Club. Jeez. I’m walking away now. Some of you guys are way to cynical. And angry!
some of use don't like blatant marketing pretending to be first hand experience aimed at parents trying to understand what can be a very opaque landscape of local clubs.
Who ARE you. Why does me telling people about a club I had a good experience with have to be marketing? I live in Herndon btw if you wanna meet for coffee maybe I can rub some of my Zen off on you.
Because it's over the top to the point of hilarity!
"We recently moved from Montgomery County where Juventus is based and it’s THE CLUB to play for"
There's about a dozen clubs in Montgomery County that are far, far better than Juventus and everyone knows that. If you had just come on here and said, "hey, my kids had great experience with this program, you might want to consider it", we wouldn't be at 7 pages of comments.
Sorry I got really excited! Yes there are tons of clubs in Montgomery Co. Wasn’t trying to take anything away from them. My daughter was excited. One of her friends signed up to try out. She got excited. Her mom and I got excited that our daughters might get to play together again! I’m excited damnit!!! I know a lot about the club and I wanted to share! But now I’m some really bad at marketing, maybe Mom, who might work for the club and is trying to pull off the worst publicity stunt of 2021. I will tone down my excitement in future posts. I PROMISE, believe me.
So you, your wife and your daughter all got so excited that the first thing you did was to jump on DCUM to do a major marketing spread about them? Sounds very credible to me. LOL
No. I am the wife. I was talking about my daughter friends Mom and I being excited about our girls playing to together again. And not the 1st thing I did. But I thought I would get on here and spread the word bc it’s a great opportunity. And I love the Club! You clearly have some hidden agenda AGAINST Juventus. Why is that? Did your kid try out and not make it???
No, I don’t have any issues at all against Juventus. But I have major issues with you doing a major marketing campaign and pretending to be someone else. Juventus DC is a new and very small club. Ali and company mostly coached MSI Classic team but you make it sound like they just solved world hunger.
Yes they’re so small WTOP seeks them out for interviews on DC metro area soccer.
https://wtop.com/gallery/soccer/how-the-juventus-way-helped-young-montgomery-co-soccer-players-during-pandemic/
Hahaha. You really think it's a big deal they got a WTOP article? Either someone knows someone or the reporter messed around on Google and found them. I am very involved in the MoCo soccer scene and nobody has heard of them.
I am not one of the other posters arguing about self promotion, but geez this does seem a bit ridiculous. Someone is trying to pump them up on DCUM. They have just over 300 followers on Instagram. Real big club. My neighbors dog has more.
So you happen to be involved with MoCo soccer and you get on here to talk badly about them. Hmmmmm.

What’s the plan to get field space in Fairfax?
The VA Affiliate 06G team will be playing on fields all in a 15-20 min radius of Tysons.[/quote]
Ok i didn't believe this was was marketing at first but now I do.
I parent would say " in the Tysons area" "Near Tysons!"
Not reapeating "The VA Affiliate...." (and capitalized "Affiluate" BTW)

Anonymous wrote:this thread is hilarious. This is even worse than the Barcelona thread. At least the Barca academy is a real thing and has a few years of being established with real fields to practice on.
This is just... stupid. Go back to Italy.

Zero!!

It just upsets me because these organizations make so much money in a dishonest way. They make parents who do not know any better shell out thousands for little billy and Sally to take trips overseas (paid by parents) in order to be “scouted”. It’s not honest. At least with other pay to play clubs the lie is not so blatant. I have a child in a mid tier division one program and we were played one too many times by clubs like the one you’re promoting. I normally just nod my head when I hear other people talking about little billy making the Barcelona ODSL team in leesburg and that he was invited to Barcelona “whatever the camp is called nowadays”. It’s all just smokescreens and bs. I guess if you’re happy to be there then that’s cool. But maybe the way the soccer community is responding signals that this is a bigger issue than you think.
LOL!

Sharing field space with DMV United? It sounds non-committal from a club as organized and awesome as Juventus. I hope that you can find a patch of grass somewhere though.
