I think the body cam footage is quite exculpatory. He wrestled out of handcuffs (!!! Why???) and she followed procedure for taser. She clearly had no lethal intent. If he had stayed instead of driving off, they could have administered first aid and maybe saved him. Sorry, but he’s the start for each thing that went wrong here.
It’s horrible, but he should have not fled.
It’s horrible but they should not have fought him. They could easily picked him up later.
This isn't a complex thought: Police should not shoot anyone running away from them. Ever.

Um, no, she did not follow the procedure for a taser because...she pulled out a gun. And, you don't know what her true intent was. How many times do we have to see the same shit happen before we realize that there are SOME cops that have lethal intent when they encounter certain people?

The officer involved is a 26 year veteran. One would think she would know the difference between her taser and her gun. A gun weighs more. It would have felt very different to her even in the heat of the moment.
I highly doubt the officer woke up this morning deciding to kill someone. She needed better training and this is negligent manslaughter. A "senior" member of the department should know the difference between a gun and a taser.
Whatever this man did prior to getting killed is not the issue. Anyone who thinks so is wrong.
Oh, so personal responsibility is only a thing for people who are trying to earn a living, NOT criminals. Gotcha. Guess we can just go ahead and cancel the whole justice system, huh?

Probably not.
She doesn’t work for US Capitol Police.
Her name is not anywhere so I think it’s still being withheld

Seems possible the officer meant to taze him but accidentally pulled her gun instead of her Tazer.
That happened in the Bay Area, CA, over a decade ago. Tragic accident; not racist.
Yes, police officer has already admitted she meant to deploy her taser. CNN just played the full audio.
hopefully that seals at least a negligent homicide conviction

What happened to these people is absolutely terrible and there's no excuse for the killing of George Floyd but visit ODMP.org once in a while and be surprised at the number of LEO who die each year in the line of duty. Somehow the media forgets to report on that.
I don't want to see officer killed. I support our police. And a person makes a choice to be an officer, or not. A citizen does not make a choice to be black and therefore "scary" to some officers.
Average Joe Schmo who is not a police officer should be able to pull into a gas station or whatever without getting shot or pepper sprayed or tazed by our official law enforcement.
