39, embedded software engineer, 170k. Moved to the US couple of years ago from Africa. Although I graduated at the top of my math bachelor program back in country I struggled to find a job. I ended as a Math teacher in small town, taught myself coding and coupled with long interest in electronics I ended up creating many embedded devices despite the lack of parts etc...I think I am lucky to have ended in this country because many companies will pay for your talent.

There’s something wrong with America when the dude who moves money around makes 3x what the school principal makes.

Hit 100k at 30, 10 years ago. IT consulting, BS engineering
Got lucky and graduated college just before the .com bust, kept my job through 08-09. Paid my dues with lots of travel and OT. But mostly luck - being in the right place at the right time - and workaholic tendencies.

I was making $110 k at 30 as a fed analyst. Not $170k at 45 (once you get close to the top of the pay scale you've got no where to go).

Hard work, a good attitude and a masters degree is what got me where I am.

$150k as a mid-level aerospace engineer. Not a ton of growth potential left in salary, but love the job.

We need to know your net worth to know if you’re the richest. Income isn’t wealth.
