Op here. I have been to playgrounds when we are the only ones there or another family or 2. If one family is alone on the equipment very far away, it is fine.
This was a packed playground. Now that I think about it, it was probably more like 50 kids and 30+ adults. These unmasked people were right next to people.

+1. There are a lot of these people in my neighborhood. 6:30/ 7:00 in the morning, they are out walking the dog, alone, with not another person in sight and yet they are wearing masks.
I find this creepy and really, really weird.
What I find weird is that in my neighborhood, the majority of people I see do this, not just the random oddball.
I find it weird that this disturbs you. WTF is wrong w you people. Someone else wearing a mask literally does nothing harmful to you. At all.
You have lost your minds.
It’s become a religion. The mask is the yarmulke. Watching people’s delusions play out is disturbing.
All you anti maskers are now playing the concern troll. You look like a-hats either way.
People will continue to wear masks and it harms you in no way at all. Right now people are supposed to be wearing masks in any risky situations. You don't know what risk factors another person has.
Get a life.
So people who think masks are mildly effective, and worth it indoors, are anti maskers?

Hmmm it sounds like even with masks it wouldn’t feel safe for someone with your risk tolerance. You are going to need to start making some tough choices. Change is coming. People are done. More and more everyday and I’m here for it! We have literally destroyed our society and our happiness and our kids happiness and 500,000 died anyway. Now we have vaccines to protect them and I’m done.
I’m done with people arbitrarily saying I’m done. Lots of people still testing positive out there. We’ve had six kids at our school in the last two weeks. I guarantee not everyone ditching the masks is fully vaccinated.
Such weak selfish jerks.
And what was the outcome for the six kids who tested positive? Did they end up in hospitals? Were there any serious complications for them?
Dense people such as yourself have been the problem in this pandemic. I don't know the outcome so far for these children, but hopefully it will just be mild illness. However, it means it's spreading in the wider community and the concern is who else they will have had contact with, who their adult family members have had contact with, and who they spread it to.
Don't be so stupid.
I don’t think I’m being stupid. I think there is very little risk to school-age children WRT COVID. I think schools should have been fully open and in-person since at least September. I think kids should be allowed to participate in extra-curricular activities. I think ADULTS should make the sacrifices necessary to prevent the spread of COVID to vulnerable people, not the children.
I think our society has shown in sharp relief that we do not give a damn about the kids. But I’m dense, so whatever.

Anonymous wrote:Finding something weird is not the same as finding something disturbing. If someone wants to wear a mask while walking alone outside, more power to them. I do find it weird though.
