I don’t understand the case for hiring Redfield when Hogan had access to the leading infectious disease experts for free. I voted for him last go around he seems determined to ruin his standing with democrats in his final year as governor. All for naught as he has no future in the current Republican Party as a presidential candidate.

Serious question — specifically, what do people want open that isn’t already open? It seems to me that everything is mostly already open with capacity restrictions. My issue is that I just don’t want to do certain things like indoor theaters or dining. But that stuff is open already, right?

I'm glad to hear that. However, until everyone who wants a vax can get one - wearing a mask in proximity to strangers is very basic respect. I also don't want to give cover to unvaccinated folks, by norming not mask wearing. It should be the overall norm in "mixed society" until we are through this. I want summer camps and summer fun to open up again, don't you? It's a few more months to be respectful and show protection for our fellow humans by following best practices in situations where we have vaccinated and unvaccinated folks mixing.
To the best of my knowledge the mask mandate has not been lifted in MD or MoCo, so yes, people should continue to follow the rules. It's not about respect, it's about preventing the spread of germs when you can't maintain distance.

He should have edged open a little more and waited til memorial day to throw everything open with increased capacity.
Now, most of the state can't get vaccines and the unvaccinated from MoCo and PG will be flooding into the open areas to party and spread the Rona.

I think this sucks. Especially since the racial disparities have not been addressed. Or maybe they have — just not the way that I would like them to be addressed. I still have no idea when I’ll be eligible for a vaccine, and I’m in a higher risk demographic group.

I think it's premature, and it will suck if it backfires and causes a surge, but at least they didn't lift the mask mandate like some states.
I would agree with both of you, but the capacity restrictions were kind of BS anyway, as they were based off fire capacity. I would be interested to know how much this changes things. I still won't be eating in restaurants regardless.
Next week many private schools have spring break. I would guess that has something to do with this premature decision.

- There's still a mask mandate statewide. So, I'd go pull your masks out of the trash if I were you.
- Even lifting the capacity restrictions, there are still distance requirements. Restaurants will still have to limit capacity to allow for 6 feet of distance between customers.
