(Assuming that I am in the minority) Aren’t the points of view of minorities to be respected? That’s why we have minority rights.
I'm not trying to belittle you. I'm trying to say that your perspective is not common and that most people disagree with you. You can continue, but I was just trying to tell you that you aren't likely to sway many people to agree with you as people don't agree with your assertions that meditation is inherently religious.
Meditation is a practice that is used by many religions, but it itself is not religious. That is the view of the majority and you aren't going to convince enough people to dissuade school systems from using this as a tool to help children, especially children who have been affected by a year of isolation from peers and friends. It's a useful tool that has helped a lot of children and it has it's place in schools.
As I said, you are welcome to your minority view and you are welcome to enforce that your children do not use meditation, but you aren't going to have much luck convincing school systems form using this to help other children.
The beauty of America is that minorities are heard. But you may have a point. It seems that there lately there is a global view that if uncool minorities are bullied enough they can be scienced. I guess a big American test is coming. Perhaps meditation will not be important enough to be part of those plans, but hope doesn’t die, even if it sometimes is shy.

OP, I strongly suggest you reexamine the question. Just because breathing techniques are used in different religions does not mean there is anything inherently religious about it.
I think it's ridiculous not to use the term "meditation" because of religious associations but truly beyond ridiculous to not want the techniques, which have consistently proven beneficial, to be taught in schools.
I would urge you to examine how your likes and dislikes arte clouding your vision here.
