Omg, it’s not that far. It’s a nice planned community right up Toll Road, built from green field so no apartments or pockets of lower income, so it’s called Cashburn by locals.
If you want wide open spaces but still hit DC for occasional meeting, it’s the bees knees
Yuck to toll road
Yuck to rich white yuppies
Rich white yuppies live in DC dude. Ashburn is suburban.
It’s funny that this was their impression. I actually think of Ashburn as being pretty redneck...
Sorry ashburn isn’t red neck. It’s highly educated IT and tech workers. Many are Indian. Maybe you’re thinking of manassas? Or prince William county?

Actually African Americans know better and stay in Maryland or DC
Lol. Because Maryland’s history regarding slavery is so much better than Virginia’s...![]()

The fact remains that AA in general would choose Maryland over Virginia.
Also Virginia was the capital of the confederacy, that in itself makes Maryland"s history so much better.
"The fact remains", huh? Do you have data to back up this claim, professor?
And before making sweeping claims about history, do yourself a favor and read a bit first. You'll lower the chances of embarrassing yourself when you open your mouth.

My Ashburn house sits on 3/4 of an acre. House was built in 1989 so it is older but the trade-off is tons of mature trees. And a lot of space.
Mature trees are great until they start dying. And at least on my street on Fairfax, a lot of big trees are dying, and they aren't cheap to take down.

You are the exception, not the norm.

Horrible traffic because infrastructure isn’t expanded with all these developments
Lacking good restaurants
Lots of racism
Boring
DC is racist, not Loudon.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Ashburn is like a cult. they must inhale to many exhaust fumes sitting in traffic for hours at a time and looking forward to trying the new spring specials at chains restaurants in the local strip mall.
Get over yourself. I live in Arlington walkable to metro but I totally see the appeal of Ashburn. There are plenty of commuter buses, Reston metro, and soon a metro right there.

It’s debatable whether the city or exurbs are greater hellscapes these days.
