It could add about 700 additional seats for high school students to FCPS but the School Board doesn’t give a crap about overcrowded high schools. They should all be recalled or replaced in 2023.

How do you figure? A lot of TJ funding comes from private donors. That all goes away once TJ is dismantled.

Mediocre schools will continue on as such.

No. It is a poor use of community resources

Turn it back to a neighborhood school

That would be a very low-performing school. Maybe better than Justice, Lewis or Mount Vernon, but about the same as Falls Church. It's hard to see how that would satisfy the Woke Army in charge of the School Board. They don't want a new neighborhood school. They want a "magnet" with more Black and Hispanic kids, even if it is only slightly above-average overall.

Will never happen. Just accept the fact that your Asian kid didn’t meet the criteria to be selected and move on. He can always learn a trade like plumbing, automotive, or get a CDL and drive a truck, but TJ isn’t in the cards.

Don't hold your breath. TJ or not, some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright.

Saudi Arabia’s government has there own school in Herndon where there kids can go if they don’t like the local public schools.
If the Asians don’t like the way the local public schools are educating, they can open their own school and let who they want in.

Wow, this is actually a great idea!

it is way overdue to be closed and turned back to a regular neighborhood school.

This is such a pitiful mentality. You should be thrilled that VA has some of the best public and private institutions in the country (HS and College). What is it about excellence that is so threatening to you? The way to make more winners is to have less losers; why don't you push for better teachers, resources, and hihgher standards during primary school years. I agree, the admissions need to change, but stop trying to drag people down. The goal should always be to create spaces for BETTER education. Jeez, at this rate will be one of those districts where school is only 4-days a week.

Why on earth should I care about TJ? If TJ were to close tomorrow is would have zero effect on me or anyone I know. It has nothing to do with me or my family and it’s URM numbers are an embarrassment.

It's URM numbers are an embarrassment because the performance metrics of the average URM applicant are an embarrassment. Fix that by supporting and providing programs to URM throughout elementary, and URM numbers will be less of an embarrassment.

On top of this, barring fixing the above problem (an insurmountable task for FCPS, who doesn't even have the guts to admit that URMs are doing very poorly in their beloved school system), Whites will become the prime beneficiaries of this Equity for All movement. Soccer moms are already chomping at the bit as we speak, salivating for the day where brawn will rule the roost from the gates of TJ.

This is a figment of your imagination.

DP. It is absolutely true that this will benefit white applicants. My guess would be mostly to the benefit of white female applicants.

It was never the goal to actually help URM but making those (false) claims is what is going to get people to move. Anyone that cares to pay attention knows this will not help URM. But URM are being scapegoated and help up for scorn as a distraction while this underhanded way to get more white applicants in takes place. Just take a look at the other thread here on Asians to see all the anti-black and racist rhetoric because Asian percentages will be reduced.

True. The anti-Black racism coming from the Asian community is discusting. Blacks fought so they could come here and supported them upon arrival.
Fairfax is not going to do what Is happening in Loudoun unless some parents or outside forces get more involved. The NAACP in Fairfax have proved time and time again to be run by bootlicks that care about making white mommy and daddy happy more than addressing the mistreatment of Blacks in Fairfax County. Maybe the Hispanic community has some riders, but the NAACP won’t get involved like they did in Loudoun

+1. This is a quote from the Discrimination against Asians thread: "There you have it. The Asians are even more superior to the white folks. How dare FCPS give spots in AAP to Blacks and hispanics, when there are Asian students could have been selected instead. Smh"

This is all smoke and mirrors to increase white percentages and everyone seems to be falling for the cover story of increasing URM hook line and sinker.

There is something neurotic going on with the Asian national psyche I want no part in unraveling. The only side they will ever be on is their own - it likely derives from hailing from a country where people will walk by a two-year-old hit by a bus:

"The disturbing video shows the van knocking the girl over. The driver briefly stops with the girl underneath the van, before continuing on, its rear tires slowly rolling over her small body. The girl is left barely moving in her own blood as several pedestrians and cyclists pass by.

Minutes later, another small truck drives over Wang without slowing down, the video shows. More passers-by walked, cycled or drove around her motionless body without stopping – until a woman carrying a sack appeared 10 minutes after the initial collision"

They have been trying to align themselves with white supremacy. There is no brown yellow coalition. They want a white yellow coalition.
