This is truly horrifying. Some busybody oversteps and tries to endanger your employment. Are you considering a restraining order? I hope you replied to the Facebook post with info about the inappropriate contact with your employer.

We lived in Arlington for 20+ years. We put a Trump yard sign up 4 years ago. Our neighbors stopped talking to us and someone loosened the lug nuts on all 4 of my tires. (yes we had cameras and no we could not see who did it) I drove my kids to school as well as another families children. 3 blocks later they started coming off. I was able to stop my car and a friend came to take a look. It was an easy fix but could have killed 7 people. For 20 years we were the neighbors that shoveled the sidewalks for the elderly, helped neighbors repair their homes, watched others children when they needed it and loved our neighbors. That changed overnight when we put the sign up.

Such a nice thing to say.

I’ll bet you’ve got a “hate has no home here” sign in your front yard, too, don’t ya?

Oh the irony. You can cut it with a steak knife.

Nahh, that's Fauxgressive BS. I'm a real anti racist, DemSoc. I don't need that liberal stuff to project my feelings.

Reminder that Trump has increased the debt. But y'all don't care because he's not a Democrat. 😂

Arlington, VA, known for its sign-driven political assassination attempts.

You said conservative. I work for a conservative think tank and everyone is voting for Biden. They HATE Trump. He goes against everything they believe in.

This is actually interesting. I am a Trump supporter, but have been a Republican for many years. I don't like listening to Trump bloviate, but I absolutely think that we needed a disruptor in Washington. The elites of Washington from both parties supported free trade, globalization and unfettered immigration. Though Republican voters were becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the massive cultural shift happening as a result of these policies, Republican leaders in Congress and Republican presidential candidates refused to make any change and represent their views in DC. They were also too weak to provide any pushback to Democratic social initiatives. After the Tea Party and Republican capture of Congress, voters expected some type of change and there was none. So finally, Republicans took a look at the potential candidates for 2016 and said, nope, not another one. One of the points of electing Trump was to put so-called conservatives in DC think tanks on notice.

Lots of people are predicting that Trump will kill the Republican Party. Actually, he has shown the party how to save itself by creating a coalition of people from all races who value work, entrepreneurship, expressions of faith, etc. The only question is whether the rest of the Republicans will be smart enough to follow his lead. If you are comfortable voting for Biden, I'd love to know exactly what kind of conservative that you are. From now on, there is no creating a party with both the Lincoln Project Republicans and strong Trump supporters. If he loses, many Trump voters will be totally disillusioned by the sabotage of many in the Republican Party and it won't rebound.

I'm just so baffled by this. In what fantasy world or alternate dimension do you live in where the Trump administration has created this? Even *attempted* to create this?! "Expressions of faith" like holding a Bible upside-down and banning travel from Muslim countries? "Entrepreneurship" like giving most of the PPP loans to crony large businesses? Valuing "people of all races" while dogwhistling to white supremacist organizations at every opportunity?! I'm a small-c [fiscal] conservative who wants the national debt paid down, bureaucracy slashed wherever possible, and strong national security from both economic and defense standpoints but you can't tell me with a straight face that the Trump-era Republican party offers any of those things.

And I'm guessing that a bunch of the people working in Congress are voting absentee in their states back home and they probably just figure DC is a lost cause.

I probably disagree with this poster on most things, but he is absolutely right about the bolded. Democrats used to be able to agree on the bolded as well. NAFTA killed many industries in the poorest parts of this country and left an entire generation without any way forward. Talking about moving away from coal and not offering a valid replacement for the jobs that families have held for generations didnt help either. I cringe every time I hear a democrat do this. While you think republicans are awful, they will resonate with these voters whether you like it or not because republicans aren't talking about taking food directly off their tables. Calling them backward idiots or whatever really isn't going to endear them to the democratic party.

What many are missing is that the democratic party is made up of misfits - all those who band together despite differences because the republicans have been so awful for the past few decades. If the republicans are ever able to smarten up and actually care about the values listed in the last paragraph above, they could siphon off a lot of the democrats that are sitting around wondering what the hell happened to the party.

If Trump loses tomorrow it will be because of his response to the pandemic. Not because of his personality.

I'd also argue his personality as well. It's NOT Presidential at all and if the last President acted like that these white folks who love Trump "for telling it like it is and being a bully..." would be trying to hang Obama for acting that way.

Guess what? Our standing internationally is down because of his personality, people here get tired of seeing the gaffes on Twitter, his constant lying is annoying and while that shit make work in the corporate world or with dictators, doesn't work when you're running a country.

If he loses its also because of how he's acted as President.

When has he ever acted like any other president? Before the 2016 election they had him on tape talking about grabbing women by their privates. I can honestly say I dont think anything i've ever heard him say can top that (or rather be lower than that). People. Don't. Care. Evangelicals don't care. Suburban moms don't care. working class "salt of the earth" people don't care.

PP here. Trump has become the republican party, but he's not conservative. Many of my colleagues do believe he is a racist and is tearing the country apart. It isn't worth it to them to win the battle but lose the war. His only coalition is between rich republicans, racists and socially conservative voters on religion and abortion. That's not a great coalition. Dems value all of the things you mention, work, entrepreneurship and expressions of faith.
