UMW delayed move-in and moved first three weeks almost exclusively online. Most classes are already online.

UVA doing similar delayed move-in.

This IMHO is playing it smart...waiting to see how it plays out at VaTech, JMU, VCU before moving students on campus.

Alabama has put their Covid dashboard online and it currently shows that there have been 566 cumulative positives among students, staff and faculty in the UA system. The time frame for that number isn't clear.

At the main campus they had 310 positives during entry testing. The campus "isolation space" is already about 20% occupied.

Inaccurate. The University of Michigan Ann Arbor isn’t open yet, although students who live off campus may be back in town. Students are just beginning to move into dorms today. Classes start a week from today, and 70% of them are virtual.

The dorms opened today, classes aren't for a week. I hope it works out, but to say it opened just fine is a misnomer.

Seems like they have strong plans in place. But like all schools...time will tell.

Yes, but there could be people who tested negative when they arrived but are actually positive and I don’t think they’ll capture those people with such a small number of post-arrival testing. I hope they make it work,but that does seem like a flaw to me.

Here is what they are doing (but I don't know the numbers): "Starting the week of August 24, students will be sequenced for additional testing on a go-forward basis as a part of our comprehensive testing and monitoring practice. "
