He brought so much self delusion and unrepentant lust to that character. It's upsetting that he gets type cast in all these roles where he's just this consumer of women and there's so much more to him than just his animal magnetism. He gets used for his physicality a lot. There's so much more there.
I like the comparison I saw to more of the actors in the 70s. Like Pacino and Dustin Hoffman. Where conventional good looks weren't as ubiquitous in the industry. He's so unique. Singular. And I just adore him.
Anonymous wrote:Same. He totally disgusted me during Girls. And still disgusts me. He also acts like he’s the hottest guy in the world.

Adrian Brody is my ugly-sexy guy.
+1 to Adrian Brody
I thought Adam Driver was well-cast in Girls, although it took me a few seasons to come around to him there. Don’t really understand the leading man/sex symbol thing, though, at all.
Javier Bardem for me. I don't find Driver hot at all.

Interesting! Also kind of like a young Alan Rickman.

Agreed. Not attractive at all, but sexy for sure.
Ugly sexy is definitely a thing. I can't quite describe it but you are spot on with him.
Some people think this about Adrian Brody too but I find him full on sexy/handsome. Trying to think of who else fits this type....
Maybe Cumberbatch?
His early roles had him as a bit of a dork
