My boomer parents are at the grocery store multiple times per week....sometimes in more than one store in a day! So I don't particularly worry about letting my kid ride his bike outside with other neighborhood kids. He knows not to play tag or basketball though and comes home if it shifts in that direction.
We're all doing the best we can. Some posters here just need to make it clear how their best is better than everyone else.
Really disturbing article in the NY Times today about the effect of no-outside time on Spain's children, if anyone is interested. I'm all for taking this public health crisis seriously, but it was never realistic to achieve 100% perfect social distancing. Overall, we've done pretty well. But some states are opening up and it's getting a little riot-y in a few places. What we're doing isn't sustainable.
Is this a joke? We should all be striving to do social distancing well, because that’s how we get through this pandemic with the fewest amount of deaths and with our medical system not completely overwhelmed. All those people who are taking social distancing seriously are ultimately helping you and your family, and everyone else.
YEEESSSS!!! Holy s#%t. You are literally endangering lives when you just "do the best you can". Relaxing social distancing should not be on the self care menu, guys. The DMV area continues to see increases in cases every day. We will never be able to reopen until there is a continuous decreasing trend...getting there is entirely on us. STAY THE EFF HOME AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND KEEP YOUR KIDS AWAY FROM OTHER KIDS! For the love of god.
No one is changing their mind because of you posting here. Literally no one.
People like you are endangering everyone!!! We’ll have the last laugh when you and everyone you know gets covid!!!!
Yep, we’ll all get Coronavirus and be sick for 1-2 weeks, which is an inconvenience but certainly not out of the norm for having little kids in preschool/day care/elementary.
Ok, sweetie. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
That’s how serious the illness is for most people who aren’t in risk groups. Sorry we don’t all have Captain Trips 🤷♀️

This is our experience as well. We live in a town home community, and the kids ride bikes together outside several times a day. They are staying maybe four to five feet from each other, adults are definitely giving each other space. My kids spend the entire day, I go only to the store once a week, same with my husband. When I run it’s literally just around the block, wth me wearing a mask. We are doing the best we can.
I love the "we are doing the best we can line" people use to support doing whatever they want.
