Completely agree with this.
As long as FCV, Arlington and Metro are accepted into ECNL. If they are not then those kids, particularly FCV’s will coming to a tryout near you.
See that's the interesting question. What would ECNL do in this circumstance? FCV and Metro are both very near to existing ECNL clubs. They could choose to not offer them spots just based on proximity. With no other elite league option, those players will flee like rats from a sinking ship.
If this is really going down reA, ECNL will accept them. Follow the dollar bills. These are verified paying customers.
That's the cynical answer. But they denied Loudoun for years when FCV was in ECNL.

How do you see that? The the gap will be a lot bigger and a lot of “elite” players will be out. This will not increase the opportunity to play elite soccer. It will decrease it....specially on the girls side. Better hope your kid is one of the top 2-3 kids on your ecnl team and no one comes in from another club. The rest of the team players(4-whatever) will most likely be replaced. That’s what happens when you narrow the opportunities. I bet a lot of the parents complaining about water down talent pool will see there kid cut from the elite teams.

Because they are upset that players they feel unworthy are paying to play at elite levels. Any talk of an elite league going under excites them. You can read it in many of the posts.
It excites the parents of strong players more. There are too many so called "elite" leagues. One is more then enough and I don't think too many parents care which one is it. They just want one
Pretty sure this would only excite the parents of strong players in ECNL, given strong players in DA have built up status and rep and don’t want to potentially leave their clubs.
That said, the continued references to pro/rel with lower tier leagues disagrees with your statement entirely.
No. Strong players want to compete with and against other strong players. Everything is watered down in both leagues. One is better. Status and rep is not useful. Talent skill motivation and smarts is useful. College coaches don't even want to know the youth league of the player..they want to get them out on the field and watch what they can do.
There's nothing wrong with your argument, but that's not what was being said, unless you are the only one posting here. The fact is that many are promoting the idea of pro/rel with NPL teams not nearly capable of competing with the top players/teams you mention. This does not support your case, but the case that most here are not like you.
Anonymous wrote:Look folks, this is about the absurdity of having two elite teams. McLean U18/19 and FCV u18/19 are two of the best teams in the country yet instead of traveling Route 7 to play each other they have had to travel to SC or LI to play inferior teams. This will end once DA goes away.
