My kids are 7 and 5. They are independent and play very well with each other. The 5 year old comes to Mama for intermittent hugs and kisses. They can play from morning to evening. They can do arts and crafts for hours.
Additionally, because classroom learning is not as essential at this age, we can do as much or as little "official" work as they are interested in. I think reading will be good enough for some days.
Hearing them running and laughing all day is melting my heart. And we are sharing our taste in music with each other in the evenings.
Joining you (quietly, so as not to annoy others) in this. Mine are 6 and 8 and I am feeling so grateful to have these ages under these circumstances. They're only surfacing for snacks.

The older two can easily entertain each other and can color/read books/play/watch movies. The 15 month old wants a new activity ever 5 minutes and doesn't watch more than 5 minutes of TV.
What I can't stand is seeing my childless friends whine about social distancing. I pretty much dream about social distancing without kids. Sounds lovely! Catching up on netflix, cleaning my house, organizing....
I was coming here to say this. That age is so hard. Good luck.
I agree (I don't have this age anymore). I remember that age was the hardest traveling on a plane, can't sit still and can't be entertained by screens. I imagine that isolating with a 15-24 mo is like being trapped on a plane with one indefinitely. GL poor parents!
