hear hear PP! With regard to NPS, the 2020 outplacement demonstrates graduating students find their way to good fit next schools. I am sure St. Pats do similarly. Best to all of the graduates at both schools.

No, there are several other models. For instance, Primary Day and Beauvoir end at 3rd. Maret starts at K, not N, and in fact, most start at PK, not N. Then you have STA and NCS starting in 4th and Holton and Landon starting in 3rd. You really cannot generalize.


I was looking at end years, not beginning years. You are absolutely right about some area schools ending in 3rd. NPS ending in 6th gives the children a good, long run in elementary. They are prepared well for middle school (the 6th grade year has a lot of leadership). And after, a lot of students attend the same Middle School and High School, so they have another good, long run.

My children were very well prepared for middle school and beyond having attended NPS. There's nothing wrong with being "soft" in elementary school and the curriculum is so well thought out that each year built beautifully on the previous. Maybe that's where the non-academic misperception comes from. It's rigorous but developmentally appropriately so. I can't say enough about how well thought out the curriculum is.
