Oh, never played soccer but was a high school cross country runner. Who cares.
How is it a good character study? Exactly how? CZ didnt have a lot of candidates. Bobby has the paper credentials. No soccer or coaching skills. You are right about one thing - he was handed FCV. Why does he only coach the older team during games? Any reason why he is not allowed to coach any other teams? Any ? I vote he goes back to being a self promoting DJ! Quick!

This was the team that beat the equivalent of large club third teams at u15 in the bottom bracket of WAGS? Impressive.
What an asshole comment-though not unusual on these boards. The O5 FCV United team is considered the 2nd team behind the 05 FCV DA. At least 4 of the girls are 06 DA PT players. The level of competition was good at WAGS-more so than the Discovery Cup in MD. There were only 3 brackets, so 05 entry was competitive, and at this age there is a lot of size and speed differential between -5 and 06 girls, so a group playing up and winning IS impressive. Take your bitterness elsewhere!
Sorry, not impressive at all. PT DA players for FCV means nothing. Where did those players come from?

No requirement. You are thinking too logically - as in - you need skills and experience to hold a job. But you have to remember this is soccer. It's political and $$$$.
Yeah. What the hell were the Patriots thinking when they hired Bill Belichick, for instance. What would a LAX player know about football? I know, I know, his dad coached at Navy, so there was football in the family, but folks, if you don't need to be a player to be a top-notch coach in the NFL, where there is more role for coaching and control than any other professional sport, I don't think high-level play is necessary to be a good soccer coach. Obviously the quality of the coach can have a huge impact on the team, but the quality of the coach's play in a former life is unlikely to make a huge difference. On the other hand, half of this is belief. And there is no question that players like coaches who played at high levels. Cruyff, Guardiola, Zidane have all been first rate, and with respect to Zidane, that probably has a helluva lot to do with how other players view him.

I agree with the above poster-usually if you Google coaches you can get lots of info on their former teams and businesses-there is very little on the World Wide Web about Bobby Pup-except for his Twitter account and one or two references to Alabama, can't find much about soccer teams he has played on personally.

I doubt Christian would hire a DA director who never played and US Soccer would hire a scout who never played. Fake news!
Not fake news at all. Read his BIO online. Find the one team he actually played for that you have to tryout to be on. He has only played club and taken a lot of classes. I read a book about otolaryngology. I'll be happy to take your tonsils out for $10,000.
