Interesting article on BP when he was first getting started. Sounds like a hard worker. Not sure I care if he played college ball or not. Now, I do know first hand that he can be a jerk and is probably more focused on himself than his players, but has achieved a level of success doing something he likes. Anyhow, an interesting character study and a good example of what US Soccer and CZ are interested in. He was handed a lot of talent at FCV and he’s not messed it up by and large. He might not be a former “pro” or college player but appears to have done well at CUP and now FCV and also appears to be smart enough to go into a good situation.

He is really patient and kind to the girls but knows his soccer as he played professionally in Brazil. He runs his own Futsal company “Soccer the Brazilian Way”. Marvin is head coach of the 04 United team-same league. They both assist with 05/06 DA teams with training. Marvin is also well liked by the girls.
This was the team that beat the equivalent of large club third teams at u15 in the bottom bracket of WAGS? Impressive.
What an asshole comment-though not unusual on these boards. The O5 FCV United team is considered the 2nd team behind the 05 FCV DA. At least 4 of the girls are 06 DA PT players. The level of competition was good at WAGS-more so than the Discovery Cup in MD. There were only 3 brackets, so 05 entry was competitive, and at this age there is a lot of size and speed differential between -5 and 06 girls, so a group playing up and winning IS impressive. Take your bitterness elsewhere!

Gus and Marvin are terrific coaches. Great with the girls and excellent teachers. That's why they also train DA teams. TSJFCV needs more coaches like these 2 and should get rid of everyone else- bunch of egocentric wanna be's.
Starting with Bobby - he is a student of the game but the worst as a human being. the worst.
He is s a student of the game but has he ever played the game?
Not in a competitive nature. He's a tool.
Did he play in college?
Nope. Exactly why I like Marvin, Gus or Emma to train my DD.
How exactly can a guy who never played in college be a US DA coach and a US Scout?
No requirement. You are thinking too logically - as in - you need skills and experience to hold a job. But you have to remember this is soccer. It's political and $$$$.

Alabama might have a club team but no men’s team. Lol at all you clowns paying $1000’s to a guy to degrade your kids in a sport he never played. He was a scout when he first moved here due to his wife’s job. Those us scout jobs are not good positions. Usually coaches between jobs take them. Coaches aren’t exactly beating down the door for them.

Who is the head scout for the region?

I doubt Christian would hire a DA director who never played and US Soccer would hire a scout who never played. Fake news!
