One needs a scholarship to attend the school the other does not. The money not spent can move to other players. The question on the recruiting form may help filter this

+1 Especially for women's lax. Even with Title IX money the resources are thin. Lax still is not a prime time sport at most colleges and universities. It is gaining ground but it isn't there yet. Our experience was different with basketball. It was not even a question in any coach's mind.

From just going through this with my other child, even in D1 revenue sports recruiting (football), colleges ask the aid question, and they are honestly more concerned about the academic support costs than they are the tuition element, as they (the schools) have more tools at their disposal. Tutors on the other hand are expensive, and the potential downside risk of a negative team academic index is not something coaches can risk. So, yes the question is asked, but there is a lot more to this equation.

Actually, ours from Robinson Sports for M&D do too, and I'm pretty sure its not cause we have any money to speak of. Its to help players who might not have the money for the club. Its financed out of a percentage of the overall club dues. I thought it was nice. Should clubs not offer financial aid?
