So he picked up the child and sat her on the bottom part of the open window but claimed that he thought there was another window in front of her? Um, from that video it is obvious that there is not another set of windows on the outside and the breeze would've clued you into that.

What are you talking about?

Yes, there are tons of videos on YouTube of people vacationing and walking around that exact deck of that exact ship and walking past those exact windows that were open. Not to mention all the photos that no doubt exist.

The windows are tinted a bright blue. And the windows that open have handles attached to them. The openings have tracks along the bottom where the glass panel slides across to open and close it, just like windows in your home or anywhere else.

Use your brain before your keyboard. The only people defending this family are the ones who have no idea what they're talking about.


^ forgot to say that there's also a big fat steel bar all across the wall that you need to lean across in order to put anything out the window.

I completely agree with this above. No company or entity should be held accountable because of an individuals own negligence. Regardless of the outcome of the negligence.


Then you are hopelessly naive and ignorant regarding actual tort law. RC and its passengers aren't held to an equal standing here under the law. RC has a higher duty to ensure the safety of its passengers. An unmarked open window at waist height for adults that leads to a 150 foot drop is an issue. Doesn't mean the grandfather might not bear responsibility under the law, but this outrage over a lawsuit is a bit much. This is the system we have outside of regulations to enforce safe corporate practices.

I'm sure they'll be fine. Lawyers represent mass murderers all the time and the grandfather on the stand would be an easy mark - seeing as he is culpable for the girl's death.

He LIFTED HER UP to a window opening when there was no way she’d get up there by herself WHILE there was a sealed window all the way to the floor all along the deck where the child could look out of AND he leaned her out of it. AND then let go. Killing the child and ruining the vacation of thousands of people.

And somehow they don’t think it’s their own fault at all.

AND some idiots on this thread agree with them and think that RC owes them money.
