My son plays there for 05s and it is a great year-around program that includes monthly player evaluations, fitness testing and video/classroom sessions. We have been involved in travel soccer in the area for a number of years and never experienced anything like this. Olympiacos DC has only one team per age group and they really focus on player development - not on numbers. Wish all of the soccer parents best of luck!
I’m sure no one wants to play in ODSL
or for a Greek team at that.
RE ODSL -- This is a starting League and is looking to grow into more competitive markets. True, they did tear up ODSL -- in 8 Fall games in their age group they won 55-7. But that really isn't the point. The real benefit of Olympiacos is that they teach European soccer. Their active defense scores about 10 offside calls per half, even against some awesome teams. The good teams adjust and usually still get called for 4 offisde in the 2nd half. The mids and forwards are passing, not kicking, into space. When opportunities are not there, they are taught to pass back to teammates who then quickly redirect the attack. Well, have to cut this short. Have to take the boy to our monthly film session. .... does that help? Yeah, I see improvement from all of the boys, especially in the areas addressed at the film sessions.
I would argue, come to a training session and see what you think. My understanding is that they still are looking for 05 07 and 08 players.

Answer: It's not. Given the accusations, which have substance, and the pending lawsuit, which will eventually involve state or federal law enforcement, VIVA will likely fold at some point. May not be right away, but eventually. See what happened at McLean Youth Football when one of the board members embezzled player funds. Villarreal will likely divest its association with VIVA at some point as well once the lawsuit picks up speed.
It's well known among NOVA soccer coaches that Bo likely steals club funds for his own gain. If you want to stay with the VIVA because it you like the parents, or you like the coaches, or etc., that's your choice. But know that doing so also means you are likely throwing thousands down the drain for a few warm and fuzzies and your child's playing season will likely end abruptly.
Being a youth soccer coach in the area for over 15 years I have witness first hand the damage someone like Bo can cause. It's common knowledge that the year prior to ABCG becoming VIVA, that the travel program lost over $30,000 - Just gone. The director had no explanation? The true fault is on ABGC's, Kip Germain for letting this fool run rampant behind his back for years.

Found Kip!
No because it’s still the same coaches from when it was AUFC and ABGC before that.

Then use that passion the work the crowd of American parents for thousands of dollars with the promise of their children may someday make it to play in Europe.
This is spot-on. Same with every low-level coach in the UK. We are suckers and they know it.

P.S.: I need some funding asap and Bo knows how to sale.
It is all about the money.
. According to FIFA rules, a US-based player can only go and train in European academy after the age of 18. So prior to that nothing will work no matter what. Any one can send their child to some commercial camp in Spain, Portugal, England etc. for 10 days. It will not make your player better. What makes a player is training 4-5 days a week year around. US system of Fall/Spring seasons does not work.
is it about the players or about SALEs and money????
Anonymous wrote:From the inside looking out, the dispute between VIVA and ABCG is disheartening and frustrating.
Egos superceded player development.
The dispute concerns which entity represents Villarreal FC: VIVA or ABGC?
Fortunately the impasse occurred during fall tryouts, leaving the door open for my players to look elsewhere.
Even if the dispute gets settled quickly, the sheer fact that it occurred and needed to go to ADR or the court is astonishing.
We enjoyed our experience with VIVA/AUFC.
Not coming back.
