Correct for current 3rd graders. (The 2nd graders have the CogAT screening beginning 3/16.)
But nothing comes out of that 2nd grade screening, which is Inview (unless they changed it recently).
It is now a CogAT screener in 2nd grade.
And does it lead to anything now? Because it sure didn't a few years ago.
"At the end of the screening processes in June, parents will receive a letter that will include their student?s performance on the Cognitive Abilities Assessment Test?(CogAT®), instructional recommendations for the next school year, and gifted and talented identification designation."

They did that before, with Inview, but still.. nothing happened in 3rd grade. They had the same spiel back then, too. That 2nd grade screening really doesn't mean much when it comes down to it, other than as a parent, having another data point about how your kid is doing. There is no tracking or specialized curriculum for your "gifted" 3rd grader.
I say this as a parent whose HSer is now in magnet and was identified as "gifted" in 2nd grade, too.
I'm just saying, take that info with a grain of salt.
