Yep. Every thread on dcum about women’s appearances is appalling.
well, this board/forum is dominated by women so you need to ask yourself, why are women doing this to themselves? there is no chance this thread was initiated by a man.

Anonymous wrote:The obesity epidemic has certainly taken its toll. In the 90’s when I was in college it was rare to see a fat person. It felt like there was a much larger population that was dateable.
However, it seems like exercise and nutrition science have come along way and the knowledge is way more accessible to anyone who wants it. This seems to have made the fit much fitter. I love that strong and healthy have become the new sexy instead of just “skinny”.

I think you're talking more about younger women. Older women look so much better these days. A 50 year old today probably doesn't look like a 50 year old did in 1984.
Young people were MUCH better looking in the past. When you look at old pictures from the mid-20th century, it's striking how basically everyone is good-looking, fit, well-groomed, etc. Much of the change is the obesity, lack of fitness and sloppy dress standards, in general.
Older women can go either way. A minority of older women are great at keeping themselves fit and attractive -- which was uncommon years ago when most women universally assumed the matronly lunch lady look after a certain age. On the other hand, quite a few older women let themselves go and are a sloppy heffalump mess.
In fairness. most older men are a mess too, and are often delusional about their attractiveness. It's very common for clinically obese guys in their 50s to be sincerely convinced that college-aged women want to jump their bones.
Young men are soft and dress like overgrown children.
Until recently lots of ethnic groups and body types were mostly invisible in film, magazines, etc. So you have a methodological problem with looking at old pictures, and farther back only the wealthy could afford to be photographed.
Young American women are mostly fat and carry around toxic victim complexes that are constantly indulged by the media and cynical public figures.

Haha, I was a teen and college student in the ineties and look at pictures and think, man I could have looked SO cute and instead I was wearing overalls and flannel shirts! But you k ow what? I’m kinda glad I grew up when that was the style. Took the pressure off. Now college aged girls seem to feel pressure to dress like skimpily clad models.
I loved the 90's. No social media, no internet dating, no constant need to look good for selfies or videos on social media, no fakeness on social media. Everyone was real and met in real life and everyone didn't suffer from back or neck problems or were as fat as they are now due to social media.

Notice how nobody wanted to have a diaper butt and no women were booty building in the gym. Boob jobs were still in though but modesty was better. In a way everything was more innocent than now. Now butts boobs and nude bodies are shoved in our faces on every social media site.
Diaper butt? I must have missed that trend.
Oh, my, God Becky, look at her butt. It's so big. She looks like one of those rap guys' girlfriends.
Sir Mixalot would like a word.

In some aspects, I think men and women are more attractive, or at least have the potential to be more attractive. Those who are not overweight and not plastic are more naturally attractive. I believe this because we are more diverse as a population with more interracial marriage and children. Look it up, it's biology. Genetic diversity means stronger, healthier, and more attractive populations.
However I do think non-mixed, white people have gotten less attractive. (I am white). Especially white Americans as opposed to Europeans. When I think of young white men, I think either overweight sloppy video gamers, or skinny soy boys. The white beefcake no longer exists and when he does, he's usually a douche bro and loses his body eventually to alcohol. That or he's gay. There are far more Black and Latino men with nice bodies than white men.
White American women tend to either fall into the dumb blonde stereotype or the tattooed, overweight Lena Dunham type woman.
The best thing we can do biologically for better attractiveness is to continue to welcome diversity, but not silo it off (don't just marry your own, race mixing is preferable) and to lose the damn weight. Stop spending your days under fluorescent lights in an office, chill out and lose the stress, eat real non-processed food, spend more time outdoors, and stop caking on chemical-laden makeup.
