The infectious disease doctor said he suspect's typhoid fever. I was waiting all day long for another doctor to come but no one came. 9 hours later I ask the nurse why I haven't seen a doctor. He says it's standard in the hospital to see the doctor once a day? Can anyone tell me if this is true? He said tomorrow morning the doctor will look at my blood work and hopefully determine if the antibiotics are working. They still cannot confirm that I have typhoid. Right now all they know is it's bacteria.

Op here. Have you ever been to the hospital? Is the doctor with you 247? There's lots of free time. I can't sleep because I have to take care of my 3 year old and the IVs make it uncomfortable. I did see an infectious disease specialist this morning. He's currently mointoring my test results. I am so tired of people calling troll. Some of you must have pretty miserable lives if you need to be nasty to a sick person.
OP, I agree that PP's post is puzzling. There is a lot of down time in hospitals.
Why is your 3 year old with you for you to care for????? I wouldn't even think that would be allowed considering you have to occasionally have tests done, etc and he can't exactly come into the radiology suite with you.
So you think they're going to kick out OPs child? I am sure it's not the first time a child has came to the hospital with a parent. If OP is new to a city she won't have childcare yet.
Hospitals aren't daycare centers. If she were admitted for an infectious disease, the father would be expected to come take the child. And then the nurses would call social services if that weren't possible. More evidence that this is a troll post. Good riddance OP.
Nurse here. Are you on drugs? The nurse's do not call social services. Children can be in the hospital with a parent. OP does not have Ebola.

The child is sick too! She shouldn't need childcare because the child should be being taken care of by the hospital staff if he is also under suspicion of having Typhoid as she says he is.

As someone who works for an insurerer there is no way that your husband chose a plan in the last few days (according to your post) and you have a card in hand at the hospital. Being retroactive, sure, but your story is odd. It takes at least 7 days to get a card to a policy holder.
At 11am in the morning on a Monday no less. Man those postal carriers in Miami are efficient!
