He's 6'2". Maybe you saw a look a like shorty?
I used to date the short version of a well known celebrity.

Robert Deniro in NY seems tough and standoffish
Olsen twins so small and so covered up they looked like two little Hungarian grandmothers
Catherine zeta jones and Michael Douglas about 5 years ago she is very striking and he was very good looking
Brooke shields in Georgetown about a year ago pretty nut definitely showing her age

I was underwhelmed by her looks though she was in a tight velour sweatsuit that did her no favors, had a little make up and just looked super plain and definitely not like her, if it wasn't for her bodyguard I would never have known.
Saw model Kendal Jenner in a restaurant in LA while I was there on business she seems completely full of herself. I was not impressed.
Met Dennis Quaid at the pool in our hotel years ago, such a nice guy....just your average next door guy, very friendly and I think handsome too!

Back in the 1990s, Ralph Fiennes was super handsome but sweaty after a Hamlet performance. He was gracious but clearly drained after being on stage.
A friend currently works for a theatre in London doing a lot of "artist relations," planning events and giving tours, and recently Ralph Fiennes was in a play there. She says he is genuinely gracious (good word PP) and remembers all the staff members, speaks to everyone, etc. Very serious when working but she called him "low-stress to be around." Not the case with all stage actors, either, and she sees a lot of them. I envy her the job!
Anonymous wrote: Had two experiences actually...one was a few months ago we went to NYC for a wedding. We went the night before to a "in" restaurant forgot the name and who comes to sit next to us but Gwyneth Paltrow and 2 other women.
I was sitting right in front of her so got to see her all night long. She seemed nice enough and I did notice she was nice to the waiter but man she was nothing to look at. Super plain Jane, as in you would not give her a second glance. She is tall and lithe that part is true (but so am I so that didn't really wow me) but in terms of looks, face, hair, etc....definitely underwhelming.
The other one was a few years ago, we were at the airport and were sitting in the lounge next to Joy Behar, first I am not a fan of hers at all but she was super obnoxious. Loud and crass, made me cringe. I sure would have liked to have seen that in person she is a nice and gentler person than she comes across, it would have made me warm up to her.
Anyone else have such an experience?
Anonymous wrote:Not underwhelmed but somewhat enchanted by these two encounters had by DD.
The first was when DD was 9 and DH, DD, and I were getting out of an elevator as Luke Wilson, his wife (then girlfriend), and dog (a dingo) were heading down the hall to get on elevator. He was filming in NM. DD had NO idea who Luke Wilson was, but she knew that she wanted to compliment the 'nice man and lady' on their 'cool dog' and so she did. They both gave her huge smiles and Wilson said "he's really wiped out from a long hike today." The whole encounter was so genuine and so lovely -- a really sweet look at celebrities who were being totally themselves, and I've always thought they were probably so relieved that we didn't ask for conversation or a picture and that DD clearly had no clue she was talking with a Hollywood star and his brilliant and talented SO (she's a former WBNA star and an attorney).
Last summer, when she was nearly 13, DD was on our hotel elevator by herself, heading to meet me at the pool, with two women whom she recognized as the stars of Riverdale (Madelaine Petsch and Camila Mendes, "Cheryl" and "Veronica"). She asked them for a selfie, which they graciously gave, and she thanked them and told me they were "so sweet." She was by herself that time so I can only relate her impressions, although the selfie reveals great smiles on all three. That time, obviously, DD knew exactly what was going on
.
Our family doesn't travel to exotic locales, and even if we are in major cities like LA, we don't stay downtown or in the heart of Santa Monica, so we're not in celebrity havens, so to speak. That's why it's been extra fun for DD to meet talented and kind people when one 'least expects it.'
