Not just in the burbs, but in Newton specifically, which is a super affluent suburb.

You are incorrect; further, you protest too much. Georgetown is a more prestigious, selective, and better school than ND by every single metric.

Agree--Not to mention the huge chasm in name recognition, plus who in their right mind would choose Podunk Indiana over DC (and all the attendant clerkship opportunities, cultural activities, food, and proximity to similar opportunities)? Not even a gray area.

Georgetown's endowment is $1.66B while Notre Dame's is $13.1B. And Georgetown's enrollment is actually larger.

Notre Dame's endowment is truly big league, higher than half of the Ivy League schools and higher than Duke, Wash U, Chicago, JHU, etc. Georgetown's endowment is more like a small liberal arts college. There's simply no comparison between the two.

Good point. Difference is striking. And plenty of small LACs with bigger endowments per student than Georgetown. Some even bigger than ND’s.

Pretty much every selective LAC has an endowment per student than is multiple times larger than Georgetown’s...which begs the question of why is Georgetown’s endowment so low?

intl alum don't donate. unless truly loaded and trying to get their kid in 30 years later.

Whoa. That was really nasty. And reflective of a very insular worldview, as in fact there are lots of schools in the US with a large Jewish cultural tradition and student presence: Brandeis, Tufts, Tulane, Emory, Duke (and those are just the ones that come to mind off the top of my head). Just as there are lots of schools with Presbyterian, Methodist, or Quaker roots.

A kid who is “turned off” by the fact that a Catholic college has ...gasp ... Catholic landmarks sounds not very laid back to me.

And BC does not have frats or sororities, so check your facts.

I already said I made a mistake...calm down. And yes the school feels very conservative and uptight..we are new to MA so were not sure what to expect and yes BU a million times better. Even our student guide was stiff and "fake". And yes he is laid back but felt uncomfortable there, what does not make sense? Have you been there? If you have then you would understand what I mean.
