Maybe, but she's also an excellent politician.

Do you prefer our president, who would be proud to shut down his government? Is that what the president is supposed to do?

Sorry GOP, you will not be able to deflect this to the dems.

Trump just took responsibility for any shutdown.

(b) Temporary worker visa program,

(d) Continued deportation of illegal aliens, and
(e) Current approved DACA applicants receive that visa program (last group visa issuance for illegal aliens),
then yeah, let's do it.

That all makes too much sense for highly political politicians to do.

But would be nice to see some progress forward on all five of those needed things.

“57 percent of Americans think Trump should compromise to prevent gridlock, and 69 percent say building a border wall should not be a priority. But 65 percent of Republicans do not think Trump should compromise, even if it means a shutdown, and 63 percent say building a wall should be a top priority.“

Very strong majority says no to shutdown, but trump is a stupid child who will do it anyway. Classic tantrump by a child.

And didn't it shut down once or twice? I enjoyed my days off and back pay later. So did my Club Fed friends.

how many times did the government shut down when Obama was President and the democrats controlled the house and senate?

apples to apples is important, no?

+1 It would be quite the "unpresidented accomplishment" if Trump managed a shutdown with the GOP in full control of Congress.

Not “unpresidented” because these clowns already accomplished this in January. It wasn’t very long, but it still happened.

True but to do it twice would really highlight just how bad Trump is at governing.

This would actually be the third Trump, shutdown with an R Congress. We had two last winter, fairly close in time. But one only lasted a few hours.

Thanks yes I forgot about that 3rd one. Nothing like a leave without pay right before Christmas to really drive home the instability of the current Government.

Backpack doesn’t happen unless Congress approves and Trump, signs off. With the T Congress and Trump hatred of Feds, we have been told to be prepared to not be paid.

It’s not like this is the first norm Trump would be shattering.

* backpay. Not a word auto, correct likes either.
