7 am.

So on a two hour delay, it still opens at the normal time, 7 am?

Yes.

For an ES that starts at 9:15, then on a day with a 2 hour delay, the SACC kids are there for 5 hours before school starts?

Well, closer to to 4 hours (4 hours, 15 mins to be exact) than 5 hours.

Wow. I am surprised SACC opens on time when schools are delayed. The roads are unsafe for the SACC staff as well. Doesn't make sense.
It is operated by Fairfax County government not fcps so a different set of procedures are followed.

I think delays are mainly for school buses and kids walking to school. Most employees in the real world have to get to work on time despite the weather.

yup this. The rest of the workforce has to get to work on time. Really not that hard.

It must be nice to be you, and never need to deal with a job and childcare. The rest of us, doing the best we can in the real world, would like to suggest you sit down and STFU.

Wow. Maybe your lesson is different: re-order your life to lower stress.

Clearly, you have problems greater than a snow day.

It’s a county run program, not private.

I didn't receive an email until 9:29 this morning. No text either. Luckily, I had checked the FCPS app for alert status, but had I not, we would have had no idea.

Honestly, WTOP radio and online has the most accurate reports immediately. All this waiting for texts, emails is too passive.

Check twitter as they seeem to always post there first.

NP. Take a step back. I am a working parent who has dealt with dcps closures for 8 years.

Being flexible is absolutely correct. If FCPS delays, you need to plan as if they might close. Esp lon days like today when you wake up and see way more snow than expected.

Direct your anger somewhere else. It's not nice.
