It is operated by Fairfax County government not fcps so a different set of procedures are followed.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:How early does SACC open? Just curious.
7 am.
So on a two hour delay, it still opens at the normal time, 7 am?
Yes.
For an ES that starts at 9:15, then on a day with a 2 hour delay, the SACC kids are there for 5 hours before school starts?
Well, closer to to 4 hours (4 hours, 15 mins to be exact) than 5 hours.
Wow. I am surprised SACC opens on time when schools are delayed. The roads are unsafe for the SACC staff as well. Doesn't make sense.

I think delays are mainly for school buses and kids walking to school. Most employees in the real world have to get to work on time despite the weather.

It must be nice to be you, and never need to deal with a job and childcare. The rest of us, doing the best we can in the real world, would like to suggest you sit down and STFU.

It’s a county run program, not private.

I didn't receive an email until 9:29 this morning. No text either. Luckily, I had checked the FCPS app for alert status, but had I not, we would have had no idea.
Honestly, WTOP radio and online has the most accurate reports immediately. All this waiting for texts, emails is too passive.
