There may be legitimate reasons for having the team placed in a lower bracket (e.g., the team is learning certain concepts and wants to execute them against lesser opposition before trying them against tougher teams, the team is incorporating several players from younger age groups, etc.).
You’ve been working on those concepts for a couple of years then. It begs the question, why do you need to work all these system kinks out in 9v9 and when you’ll have to teach these systems all over again to all those Loudoun kids coming over next year anyways?

I wonder if being in CCL, which does not post game scores and has some weak teams, helped Loudoun to market itself as elite, while hiding the program's deficiencies? They are certainly getting exposed now after moving to ECNL.
Have you seen Loudoun play?! They are strong.
I would love to see a team beat Loudoun at any age group. They must be phenomenal.
There are 19 losses and only 6 wins for Loudoun in ECNL play. Just go to any ECNL game for Loudoun and you are likely to see teams beating Loudoun.
We would but we have a tournament this weekend. But let the FCV 07 parents know - they should be free.
Nah, FCV is ducking McLean by playing in the second bracket at the Discovery Cup this weekend. Somebody hold FCVs spot on that second bracket podium for their medal pictures of the next group of National team call ups!

Do you fail to understand the landscape or are you just a parrot?
04-01 FCV teams were formed when ECNL was the clear cut top league. Loudoun had lost players in those age groups a loooong time ago and ECNL did not bring those players back from FCV or McLean.
The 05 and 06 team were quickly formed due to the short lived Loudoun/FCV merger. Those kids had an understanding if not offers well before Loudoun was awarded ECNL.
ECNL was announced during the FCV ID process. Before the announcement, Loudoun kids were at FCV in droves. After the announcement nobody went, zero, nothing zip.
The 07 tryouts were a joke. A few people came out of curiosity but left shaking their heads like walking out of a empty restaurant at peak dinner rush. FCV can't fill their younger age groups and frankly with so many options most people are staying at their clubs. Whether you want to admit it or not, parents realize that they no longer need FCV or McLean anymore.

Here is another number, 22-1. The goals that Loudoun has scored against FCV. Which is more relevant to some 07 kids?
I thought you were just claiming that FCV does not play against Loudoun. Are you pulling up U10 scores? Whatever makes you feel happy ... FCV beat McLean, which beat Loudoun. If FCV is so bad, just relax and don't stress out about losing Loudoun kids to FCV. FCV couldn't possibly attract any of Loudoun's 07s. So just chill...

This is how I decide where to go next year. FCV beat McLean, which beat Loudoun. But wait. FCV lost to Herndon, who lost to VSA, who lost to VYS. Honey - pack up the kids we are moving to Vienna.
That's why you have to look at overall picture beyond U10-U12 results for one age group. If you accept that DA and ECNL are roughly the same level, you have to ask which club is struggling in its league? Which club consistently fields strong teams in the league? This way you won't have to move to Vienna.![]()

Who is ducking McLean? I don't see any Loudoun teams in the brackets of Discovery Cup. At least FCV entered the tournament ....
