In this case, the GOP controlled congress has utterly abdicated its responsibility to provide a check on Trump. The Devin Nunes-led "investigation" is a joke, and actually intended to fulfill the opposite purpose (provide cover for Trump). It doesn't matter how much Comstock personally disavows Trump (and I agree she hasn't done enough) - a vote for her is a vote for Kevin McCarthy/Steve Scalise/Jim Jordan as Speaker, and to refuse to provide any sort of check on Trump.

Comstock is increasingly out of touch with most of her constituents. If she wants to pander to the white vote in Winchester, she’s going to walk away from her increasingly moderate and liberal closer-in voters. Not everyone thinks that $10 more in a paycheck is worth the gutting of programs and the tolerance of isolationism and nationalism.

I love how the Comstock posters are all about "no higher taxes" and then when you point out that Comstock actually voted to raise taxes on most people in the district they switch to complaining about gun control.
