What I don't get is why the pre-payment of 3 years of the field rental contract was the nexus for the subsequent acts. How much is a year's worth of rent for the fields worth? $10,000? $100,000? I can't believe it is as much as $100,000 a year (for $300,000 total) because that is an astounding amount to imagine the DCE club pre-paying. Where would they get that from? They aren't anywhere near grossing that amount let alone netting it. But for the two organizations to get in bed together for $10,000 (for $30,000) a year seems likewise as ludicrous. That can't be anywhere near what a big operation like Bullis would need to help with cash flow if indeed that is the issue.

So the great decision was made talking to approximately 1/3 of the team and people that probably had ulterior motives for their comments? In addition, they decide to move forward with the DCE coaches who have yet to show any success in College Recruiting?

What specifically did the committee not like? What was so bad that it would outweigh the recent successs of the program?

It has been great drama! My kids are at a public school and don't play lacrosse, but I keep returning to see what happens next. I'm guessing that this poster has accurately described the core of the problem. I've seen a lot of very wealthy, influential soccer parents lose their minds when a coach fails to see what a star their kid is, and don't start him or give him his "rightful" playing time. Couple that with club coaches with an incentive to make this type of parent happy, and things can go downhill quickly. The field investment angle is interesting. The money motive definitely adds another layer to the intrigue.

The other kids I get because they are apparently are following their sucky poor role models but the adults who are being so mean spirited about this kid are just disgusting. He is not going back to STAB. And Bellistri didn't recruit him. He plays on Madlax 2019 with several Bullis players and those kids did the rest.

They might be annoyed, but he was really really good, made their team much better and freed up other players to score more. I assume he only took one players spot, unless there are other transfer recruits that had a similar effect.
When you make this wcac type commitment to athletic success above all, you have to live with these consequences. Getting rid of JB wasn’t going to change anything. The DCE guys would do the same thing. They may have some more loyalty among certain parentd because they did the recruiting legwork for bullis or funneled their favorite club players to the school. But if a top ranked player contacts them and says he wants to come to bullis, you can bet they won’t care about the full pay kid that he displaces.

On another note, why is the stud player going back to stab?
