Sex is necessary. If she's denying you sex, the "other reasons" you care about her become increasingly unimportant. Not to mention, willingness to have sex is the leading indicator that she cares about you. If she's refusing sex, that means she doesn't care about you. As a result, quite naturally and inevitably you stop caring about her as well.
I stopped having sex with my now ex-husband because he criticized me, insulted me, gaslighted me, and would rage at me.
I would say that was a leading indicator that HE didn't care about me. Am I supposed to disrespect myself in that scenario and have sex anyway??
No. It's totally reasonable that if you don't like your spouse, you would not have sex with him. In that case you should immediately divorce him, end of story.
Can I ask how long between the time you hit that point (not liking him, not wanting sex) until you filed for the divorce? Lots of women don't want to divorce, mainly for financial reasons they stay married, but don't have sex. Women are able to just "not have sex" for loooong periods of time, but men are not. So women can stay in these zombie marriages perpetually, all the while expecting him to not go elsewhere for sex. Of course we all know any normal man WILL go elsewhere, but let's keep pretending otherwise.
