This is it in a nutshell. She tries to engage substantively on issues, but doesn't know them well. And when people ask her substantive questions about her father's actions and policies, she pulls the "I'm his daughter, don't ask me anything inappropriate" BS.

+1 If she really were different from her dad, she would have gone into PR or worked on Wall Street. She certainly had every opportunity to do so. Most kids don't tether themselves to their parents. We choose our own paths.

The thing that surprised me was that so many people expected Ivanka to be a moderating, "good" influence on her father. Like, why? Why would she be any of this? Ivanka is her father. A prettier, younger, less outspoken version of her father. Like her father, she made her money on her last name. Her entire business is built on selling "Trump" as a brand name. She lives by the Trump and dies by the Trump. So why exactly would she be any different from her dad?

Geez, if my dad was a "billionaire", I think I would look pretty good too. She's ok smart. She wouldn't be as wealthy, if it wasn't for her daddy. I actually don't care anything about her, but if you want to put yourself out there as an adult, be ready for the hits you take.

People are trashing her because she is riding on her father’s coattails. It is abhorrent, she does not belong in the White House. Trump tries to show her off like she is something special, she is not, she is a basic woman who had extensive plastic surgery in an attempt to look more beautiful. She does not come across as exceptionally bright either. She is a charlatan.

I don't think that's fair. (psychic PP here). I'm certainly no fan of Melania. But I think she is stunningly beautiful and very intelligent. I also admire the way she is able to rise above all the negativity around her. I think she married for money, but I don't think she is necessarily a bad person. Ivanka is completely different.
