What's amazing to me is the emphasis on tolerance by educated urban dwellers comfortably (for them) co-exists with this bigotry towards "flyover" people.
Yes, I've pointed that out before. The liberals pride themselves on being tolerant toward illegal immigrants with their anchor babies soaking up benefits and unmarried women who have multiple children they can't afford yet denigrate hard-working taxpayers as morons in flyover country.
They just channel the disdain they have for POC to non rich white people. It’s more PC to crap on other white people.

The top 10 fastest growing states are in "Flyover country"
Your beloved blue states are not.
Not all of those top 10 states are red states, or flyover. WA, OR, DC. And then you have blue states of CO and NV. Is CO considered "flyover" country? I didn't think it was.
California and New York are definitely not fly over lol.

And, for those of you who think people from other parts of the country should move to the coast for those wonderful job opportunities and “competitive peers,” are you ready for skyrocketing cost of living? How about even more congested traffic? How about increased day care costs because of demand?
Some people move AWAY from the coasts exactly for these reasons.
There are professional jobs in flyover country, of course, but not much depth in their economies, so job hopping is nearly impossible, wage growth is terrible. Locals are so provincial. Sure there are some sophisticated doctors, lawyers and execs ... but again, not much depth. Most folks are dull and slow and myopic.
And yet their candidate won. Perhaps denigrating them less and trying to speak to the issues that concern them might be a better approach.
here we go again , sooner or later the khaki pants and meatloaf for dinner crowd will learn ( most likely the hard way ) that we won't all suffer equally from their decision to hitch their wagon to their orange reality tv star . So if 'yet their candidate won' is all they have to show after a year some of us can't help it but mock them for the uncouth and uncivilized fools they've always been .
Anonymous wrote:Yikes. This thread is full of lazy stereotypes. I was an east coast best and brightest. Ended up in dc. Moved back to my flyover city. I live in the city here and my life is way more cultured and nice than when I lived in suburban dc (because I couldn't afford to live I dc proper). The divide in America is urban rural and these blanket statements about flyover country are just lazy.
