This tells me your son didn't have adhd. It was just immaturity. Seems like you drugged him just to make life easier. I get it, but it doesn't seem like he has adhd. I have a 12 yr old DS, and he was pretty challenging at 7, too. But, he doesn't have adhd. He was just a boy full of energy and lots of things going around his head, like most 7 yr olds.
This tells me that you're an idiot. If you knew anything g about ADHD you would realiza that it's completely normal for some kids to outgrow it as their brain develops. There is actually a huge long term study going on at NIH right now to study this that involves imaging kids' brains. Guess what dumbass: kids with ADHD can be distinguished through brain imaging.
Christ, you're stupid.
For f@ck's sake, crack a book before you embarrass yourself.
Yep, it's completely normal for kids to outgrow their immature, inattentive, hyper personality, without medication.
Guess what, idiot, there is no consensus among doctors that imaging is a foolproof diagnosis for adhd. Crack a book yourself.
Dumb@ss, immaturity or being hyper is not the same as ADHD. And imaging actually reveals different types of ADHD as different developmental issues. This is not controversial.

I put more faith into random internet diagnoses than real ones. Don't you? Jeez Louise!
It sounds like as that boy matured he developed a greater capacity to handle his own strengths and weaknesses, which is a goal we all have for our kids, and which is commendable.

From what I can tell, this is an American problem. You never hear of people from other continents and cultures complaining their kid has ADHD and MUST be put on meds to function in life. That is strictly an American thing, and very sad. Makes you wonder how cave people functioned back in the day, since they didn't have shrinks and do tors to dole out false diagnoses and get them addicted to legal drugs.
We are Germans here for 4 years with our children for my husbands job. This is absolutly not a thing in Germany. It has been so shocking to see how many kids are on drugs here for basically bad behavior. The standard for behavior for German children, our expectations for independence and organization is so different from Americans. If an American kid is not maturing, not listening, not getting good grades, out dispensed the drugs and thearapy. In Germany, the parents are the leaders, German kids are expected to fall in line and most do. I clearly see why there are so many social problems, so much drug addiction, and so much violence here. I mever unserstood it, until i saw with my eyeshow "sick" everyone is.
This country has a lot to offer, but Im very grateful that i dont have to raise my kids here. So, definitly not normal for kids in Germany to he diagnosed with ADHD and then given glorified street drugs.
Germany is also 20 years behind the times on treating autism, warehouses its kids with anything beyond very mild SN in separate schools, and decides who is worthy of being college-bound at age 10. There are plenty of problems with both countries.
Americam here who worked in Germany for a year. Their kids are much better behaved, more mature, and dont shoot each other in school or on the streets. Its us who are the barbarians.

They could always sit still, pay attention and listen intently to teachers and coaches. Both could concentrate at tasks.
Most ADHD kids I know were given constant access to iPads, iPhones, video games and TV from a young age. Dinner out? Here’s my iPhone. Car trip? Watch movies or play on phone non-stop. It’s creating socially f-caked up kids that can’t self modulate or sit still.
And yet my 24 YO has ADHD and grew up before smart phones were a thing, watched no TV until age 2 and very little after that, and we’ve never had a video gaming system. She also never had behavior issues. ADHD presents itself in various ways.
I don't think most people think ADHD is not real, just that it's over diagnosed.

My friend from India says the same thing. She is appalled by the number of dumb kids and high school dropouts here in America, and the school issues with students that act out. She said they just didn't have those problems where she comes from in India.
It's very interesting to see how the rest of the world views our country. Very eye opening.
And now education advice from a country that's 26% illiterate and where women are stoned to death for being taped. Awesome!
Yea, India, the same country that is giving Americans many of their doctors and stem workers because the native population is incapable of that work.
The US could not even produce a native surgeon general. Had to get one from that "illiterate" country. I bet a native born and raised American cleans Dr. Vivek Hallegere Murthy's toilets.
You all really need to educated yourselves about India. It is a country with a 3,000 year old caste system and not a model for the modern world.
