Bravo OP! Thanks for the update. Although we'd all love to see SIL embarrassed to shreds, sounds like you handled the matter gracefully and were rewarded with a great Christmas.

“It sounds like too much trouble for you. Please don’t worry about it, there will be plenty off food from others. As I told your husband, I don’t want to host this year but he convinced me otherwise promising that everyone would participate and bring dishes.”

OMG, I haven't thought of PBR since I was a teen. Although we would never have splurged on cozies back then. Just going to PBR was a huge step up from Old Milwaukee! Cozies would have been waaaay too luxurious for us. But I can see how they might be really nice for OP's party!

The sister *offered* to bring the main dish. She clearly paid attention during the July conversation and was on it.

If I got talked into having the event at my house, I would not feel obligated to provide that.
