As I understand it, medicare will also probably be slashed. That will hurt many older Americans. AARP has an article about this. I find this part interesting because many older Americans voted for R and Trump.
So basically, the tax bill screws:
- middle class in a few years when the cuts expire for them ( but they don't expire for the rich)
- lower class (losing ACA coverage and probably food stamps
- seniors (losing some medicare funding)
- upper middle class whose taxes will go up
The tax bill winners:
- big corporations (not small business)
- the very rich (like Trump and all his cronies)
Another DP. When the tax bill passes EVERYONE will lose. We will be extremely weak economically and that’s when we’ll be attacked.
Not all of us will be weaker economically. The Trump's family could gain 1 billion dollars if the Republican House tax bill is enacted.

How is it well stated? It doesn't matter who you vote for, it's a rigged system. Corporate overlords control everything.
This is why we need campaign finance reform (aka get the money out of politics), and limits on lobbying. I also believe that some pols do have the best interests of Americans at heart. Bernie, Warren, Obama (but he learned he had to play with others which means getting a little dirty and letting insurance companies influence ACA).

Medicare is not.
But seriously, triggering PAYGO cuts to Medicare is no way to address the problem. It's going to require intelligent planning, something that's been in short supply for quite some time. Not a hastily crafted-in-secret tax cut bill that just so happens to cut Medicare too.

There's nothing in this tax proposal about removing subsidies for insurance premiums or cutting food stamps, is there?
As far as Medicare funding, Obamacare already took away $600B. It would be criminal to slash more.
How are the tax breaks not expiring for the rich? You mean the AMT and estate tax?
